the weight will kill Hopkins. Floyd would be too fast either way. I remember when Hopkins was still at 160 and Floyd was at 147 he would say that 154 would be his limit. He would never mess around with Hopkins at 160.
I think Hops would die if he tried to make 160 these days... At the very least he'd be completely drained

In the old days, when guys like Mickey Walker were fighting Max Schmeling, or when guys like Rademacher made their pro debut in a crack at the HW title, these guys would fight. Floyd would let the penny fall where it dropped, and would come in at whatever weight. Ditto Hopkins. And it would be a good fight, then when it was over, there would be other fights just like it and we would move on. Instead, today, the fight will be played out over the interwebz for a few years. :wack: It used to be that a loss only damaged you if you lost badly, tore a retina, broke your ribs, got brain damage. Now it hurts you just to have a loss, it could be a single point in a defensive-oriented fight. Floyd missed a trick with Pacquaio. He could have been the one landing that right hand.
i just can't imagine this fight happening.. too big a difference FLoyd is what 5'8 and 150-55 tops I think Hops is like 6'1 and would have to get down to 160 or so.. i don't see it ever happening
Wasn't the fight all but signed but Pacquiao pulled out because he refused to do the testing because he was "afraid of needles"? Floyd deserves a lot of criticism for not trying to make the fight later on when Pacquiao suddenly agreed to do the testing but saying "Floyd REFUSED to Get Anywhere Near a Fight w/Midget Ass, Sawed Off Pacquiao" is silly. Anyways, Hopkins can't make 160, Floyd shouldn't fight above 154 and the fight would be boring as fuck and wouldn't sell that well.

Why won't Hopkins call out Andre Ward ? Or even Froch? or GGG ? or Kovalev ? Hopkins is a bitch looking for an easy payday and a fight with a smaller man.
He is near the end of his career and he wants a deserved great pay day before he closes the curtains. Who can blame him?
