Curtis Stevens CALLS OUT Gennady Golovkin...

I'm really high on Golovkin but I got to say, he seems the kind of guy who relies a lot on his power and when a guy is able to handle it well (like Ouma or Rosado), he becomes far, far less effective. Maybe it was because of inexperience (Ouma), or that he was really sick (Rosado), or that he had an off night, but whatever the case, I hope it's something he worked on..

I don't expect Stevens to be competitive, but he seems to have a good chin and very good power (and GGG defense ain't really good), so hopefully, he makes a fight out of it.

 

I don't get your point, because he looked fine in both those fights. He dominated his opponents and stopped them. It's not like he suddenly looked like a clueless scrub, like Tito, when his opponents didn't crumple after the first couple of meaty shots.

The MW division was solid a couple of years ago. Now we have an old Martinez, an unproven GGG, a mediocre Peter Quillin and some burger-flipper-by-day-boxer-by-night "champ" called Darren Barker. The talent has moved up in weight or are just plain gone and we're left with a shit division.

The fight was fought at a higher tempo to what we normally would see from a Golovkin the Greatest fight. Well, in my opinion that is. Seemed like Golovkin the Greatest wanted to teach Stevens a lesson; which he did.
