From what I recall I had it 3-2 Chandler. Rounds 1 and 2 were Chandler rounds (albeit close enough) round 3 was a CLEAR Alvarez round, round 4 CLEAR Chandler round and round 5 CLEAR Alvarez round. Chandler was clearly over confident. I think he expected to take out Eddie in the first minute of the first round. It seems like he not only bought his own hype but amplified it by 1000. On top of that he looked exhausted halfway through the fight (he did get a second wind later on though), all in all I am sure Chandler didn't take Alvarez seriously at all and paid for it.

Dana would scoop up Alvarez and Chandler in a heartbeat. To think anything different is just silly.

I had Chandler winning the 1st and the 4th, and Eddie winning the 2nd and 3rd, with the 2nd being very close. Like I said, because the card ran late and the DVR cutoff before the 5th, I didn't get to see it, but everyone seems to agree Eddie won the 5th.

It's clear Alvarez learned a lot from his last fight with Chandler. He kept his distance, didn't get into any unnecessary exchanges, and used his jab very well. He busted up Chandler good in this fight, and Chandler did the same to Eddie when he had him down in the 4th. Both fighters showed a ton of heart.

Who knows.... with the way things are going in Bellator, maybe Chandler vs Alvarez 3 will happen in the UFC.

He might pick up chandler. But he wont waste time on Alverez, who is clearly on the downside of his career.

Coming off the biggest win of his career where he just beat a guy who has looked unstoppable, you say he is on the downside of his career.

Eddie has one more fight on his Bellator contract, which will most likely be a 3rd fight against Chandler. Win, lose or draw, he is UFC bound after that fight.

I don't think either guy did much to prove they're even close to being the best on the division.

    Both guys looked awful honestly.

Dana almost gave Eddie PPV points to be no better than the likes of Gray Maynard.

Michael Chandler is a cautionary tale to what happens when a guy gets too comfortable fighting bums. He looks like he hasn't improved at all since the first fight.

I can top that. I had the dvr set to record the replay that was to begin 4 hrs after the show began. Because I knew it might run over, I think I added an hour and half.

Well, I get home and Spike must have changed the replay start time due to the overrun and my fucking dvr was too stupid to adjust so I got nothing recorded. I like to burn everything to dvd so I'm pissed about that since Spike shows no replays on their schedule. Then I found the card on youtube today and watched it intermittently throughout the day. In Russian.

Sucks that everything went the distance.

Bellator was doing the fuck around fuck around between fights, too. You should have been fine even with the fights going the distance.

If you have a DVR and still havent figured out how it works when it comes to fights, i got no sympathy. Let me educate you assholes. Record to the fight and record the two shows after the fight as well. You do that, you wont miss shit.

I've never once had a fight card I dvr'd go past the 30 minute extension. Not once.

My mistake for thinking a company that thought they were ready for PPV would know how to properly time a TV show. They lucked out that this wasn't a PPV. There is no overtime allotted for a PPV. If it says it ends at a certain time, it ends at a certain time, whether it's done or not. Had the original main event gone on, and they let the PPV end in the middle of the fight, Bellator would've had to close it's doors the very next day.

straus vs. curran, newton vs. king mo were both dull, boring fights i thought. rampage vs. tito probably would've sucked as well. can't say it was a ppv worthy card. either way, alvarez vs. chandler was an excellent scrap. close fight, but i had it even going into the 5th and thought alvarez won.

Bellator should do a revolutionary move and book Chandler versus Alvarez 3 for SEVEN rounds.
