Marquez has the personality of a log. He can't sell shit to a fly.

I was surprised that it did even this well, considering how little known both of those guys are. Comparing their numbers to Floyd is not plausible

The PPV Sales for Pacquiao-Rios Will Be VERY Interesting...Could Determine Whether or Not we'll EVER See Pac-Mayweather...

I think Pac-Rios will do more PPV buys than Bradley-JMM.

it's that "how will Pac look after being brutally KO'd?" question surrounding it and I'm pretty sure a great number of people will tune in to see how this one transpires.

Pacquiao will keep doing solid numbers. He's a superstar.

375,000 is good. bradley brings NOTHING to the table. he literally didnt have any fans at the fight. i did not see a single soul there for bradley. if you do 375 on your own it means you are a draw. not mayweather jr or pacquiao but as big as anyone else in the game aside from possibly cotto.

I don't know. If if he was a draw he should be doing better numbers than that regardless of who he fights. It's not always about the opponent. I would have figured the Pacquiao KO would have got him a bit higher.

he and his opponent both got paid handsomely and the promotion still made enough money to the point where they are seriously discussing a rematch. i guess it depends on your definition of a draw

I don't even really have one.

I guess I think in my mind it's someone who gets a lot of mainstream attention and hence ppv buys.

Disagree. Bradley brought something to the table that most fighters couldn't--a real chance to beat Marquez. There are certain fighters who aren't draws by themselves, but make good bridesmaids. Bradley is one of them. Actually, I don't think JMM is much more than a bridesmaid, this was just a matchup that intrigued some people who were impressed by a glow-in-the-dark, piece of shit like Marquez coming off of a asterisk win over Pacquiao. Personally, I thought the matchup was terrible for a ppv main event.

The things is this, Bradley did bring to the table the ability beat Marquez but rarely do "bridesmaids" matter when selling PPV to mainstream audiences. Tim beat Marquez and Pac*. If he fights Mayweather next it would be a legit matchup, but the main rea$on it would sell is because of Floyd. Look at the absurd numbers for fighting Victoria Ortiz. Hype can sell any opponent, but not the headliner.

The two biggest draws are currently are Mayweather and Pacquiao. JMM fought BOTH of them and I bet the majority of people who have seen the fights couldn't recall his name even though he face planted the latter.

The potential competitiveness of a matchup of course will increase sales, but the star attraction is still what the public pays for. If promoted "right" Klitschko vs a comebacking Tyson would probably equal or better sales of Golovkin-Martinez.

i think a few boxing fans bought the bradley marquez PPV because it was a solid matchup that didnt have a predetermined winner. the majority of PPV buyers were mexican fans of marquez.

That and you will rarely find mexicans watching a fight alone. 30 people at the house minimum.

But of those 30 Mexicans they will put maybe two dollars per head in the collection plate for a single house PPV signal fee.
