Not sure but Garcia hits harder than Uchiyama. Uchiyama has decent speed so he lands a lot and gets stoppages, not as big of a puncher as his record suggest.

I am not too hip on these lighter fighter so perhaps his chin wasn't too good...the video was far too grainy for me to get an accurate read on his cranium density.

Verdejo has talent. Seems to get wild a bit. One thing I have noticed is these PR trainers are horrible last night was no exception. I'm surprised Martinez was champion. He always had major flaws in his game.

 

I agree with you. The good puertorican trainers are a thing of the past. They're all dead or retired and now we have a list of mediocre fools who has no idea how to develop young boxers. There's much more to boxing than keeping yourself in shape. You have to come with a strategy, watch tapes, correct your fighter's flaws incessantly. These upcoming fighters are getting by on talent alone.

 

I thought Nonito looked well.

He didn't look like he did 7 years ago no, that comes with age for a fighter, but he got the job done and that is all that counts.

BTW: only Roy Jones has any boxing experience on that broadcast and he is just not a good commentator, IMO.

Don't take to heart anything Max, Jim or Lederman says because they don't know anything about boxing.

I enjoyed the fights a lot more last night with the volume off listening to some nice music.

If you would have read the entire thread, a poster mentioned that Kellerman was knocking Donaire.

Max is a nice guy, but he does not know anything about real boxing.

 

Max is pretty knowledgeable, what irks me is his perennial hard on for slick speedy fighters.
