Yes actually. I loved what he did for Highlander:Endgame. Long time fan of that movie/series so I was impressed there.

 

Per some reports the early previews proved to be disastrous. Audiences hated it. The studio went in panic mode and ordered reshoots to make it more 'biblical' and less 'science fiction'. Well, it is the producer's job to protect the studio's investment. At the end of the day, it is just a product destined to make money. So, of course, the studio can have a say in the final product before delivering it to the market.

I read somewhere that Aronofsky is fighting to keep his original cut. If the studio takes the film from him to make alterations, it might end up being released with a pseudonym name as director (a common practice in Hollywood when this 'no truce' situation happens and the director asks for his name to be removed from the film).

 

Did you read the "jewish myth" part?
