    He lost that round.

However you should be aware I don't argue with you as you are a king of non-sequiturs and I'd rather argue with a brick wall.

No way Hendricks stay's champ for long if he ever win the title. He has far too many flaws in his game.

I think it's the emotion coming down from a tough fight talking, I doubt he's gonna actually follow through it.

he was clearly wobbled in the second. he came back and won it imo, but that round could have gone either way.

Yeah eventually someone will beat him but the current crop of guys isn't great honestly. The 170lb division has always been very overrated. Nowhere close to the depth and overall talent of 155.

GSP ruled a division of one or two dimensional specialists for an eternity and I think a really solid two and a half dimensional fighter like Hendricks can probably go on a run.

Who do you personally think could beat him over 5 rounds?

I actually have a bit of trouble envisioning the Lombard matchup because it's so weird, but I think Hendricks should be able to take him down enough.

No doubt that, in hindsight, 170 lbs hasn't been really strong. Just considering the current run of Robbie Lawler of all people.

A guy with a good chin would probably decision him in a 5 round fight. He would have clearly lost the Condit fight if they had to fight 2 more rounds but maybe he learned from it so we'll see.

I think Lombard and, gasp, Lawler all have a solid chance of upsetting GSP if he doesn't retire.

Lol, me neither, but he has the same kind of style has Hendricks so he could maybe make a fight out of it.

On a round basis, I thought it was even going into the 5th . GSP clearly won the 5th.

That being said, Hendricks won his rounds far more clearly.

The commentators completely missed the fact that Hendricks was the first guy to completely out-grapple GSP. To me, that the biggest story of the fight.

    I don't think so.
Condit is exactly the problem with the division, he's 2 dimensional(striking, ground) with a horrid deficiency in another(wrestling, and both offensively and defensively)

Hendricks easily could've grinded out another two and saying otherwise is really stretching it when you consider Johnny hadn't trained for 5 rounds.

If you are actually building a guy to beat Hendricks he has to have the following.

    - Capable offensive striking .. Especially counter and off the back foot. Power would be ideal as Johnny sometimes leaves his chin up on rushes.

    - Great defensive wrestling. Obvious as he can grind a lot of guys out and out wrestled GSP thoroughly

    - Good defensive striking. Keep him at distance. Punch resistance needs to be adequate as he has pretty fast hands and lands. Height and length is important here which is why I don't like Lawler and Lombard..

    And then there's the optional

Elite offensive ground skills since that's probably the biggest weakness in his game...hidden by all time great level scrambling.

Still scrambling is actually DANGEROUS against an elite BJJ guy. A guy like Palhares or Nick Diaz could be very dangerous to Hendricks in those situations. But I doubt they have the other skills needed to beat him.

Though Nick vs Hendricks would be a fun fight

Holy shit, just caught that Woodley knocked Kosheck out. Didn't expect this one at all. The StrikedForce guy's are doing great in the UFC, I suspect that the Bellator fighter's would too if they'd have the chance.

You need to rewatch the round bro, if anything was clear about that round it was that GSP got rocked and was wobbly.

I saw it when it hapened but it wasn't a tap imo, just him trying to neutralize GSP legs legs with his right arm.. I mean, would it be even possible to complete the choke form their respective positions ??? Plus, the ''tap'' happens after he let go the choke so it's basically pulling at straws. Unless that Hendricks had verbally gave up before tapping but GSP would have to be a total idiot to not mention it.

It looks like he began tapping before it was let go. Yeah it's possible to sink it in from that position, but maybe GSP didnt even think about really going for it.

My BJJ knowledge ain't all that, but from my view, if Hendricks tapped this quickly after what look like an unleveraged guillotine, wich looked more of an overhook to be honest, he's basically the biggest pussy to ever fight for a title in the UFC.

He definitely isn't tapping giving that he's (successfully) lifting GSP off of him. I don't know why his hand is so shaky though. Maybe he has that Michael J Fox thing in early stages.
