How the fuck has Rakoczy only managed 1 win as a pro MMA fighter? She seems far too good for her record. I would say she must have had no takedown defense at all when she started, but apparently in her first fight she was stopped by punches, strange.

I have to give Julianna the edge though. She is raw and scrappy but just an aggressive, powerful beast. Who knows though, if Jessica can keep it standing.

Incidentally Baszler is one of the ugliest women I've ever seen, and an arrogant cunt too. She is a sore loser, she was slagging Julianna off and saying she would beat her 99/100

I would pick Julianna to beat her 10/10, she is just a better fighter.

 

i dont think rakoczy even trained in mma when she had her fights a few years back. if her tdd was better, she'd probably be the best in the world. pena knows how to change levels though, so i think at some point, she is gonna get the top position and punish rakoczy on the ground. i'm hoping that rakoczy establishes her jab and keep pena at bay like she did in her last fight and just coast through the rounds.

 

Yeah if she had elite takedown defense, she'd be very hard to beat, as there is no one who could compete with her standing.

I had a feeling she'd beat Pennington comfortably, as Raquel basically fancies herself as a boxer, and she's not bad by MMA standards, but incredibly basic compared to Rakoczy as we saw.

 

That Chris Holdsworth is a fucking massive 135 pounder. Looks like a legit 5'11, and isn't even particularly skinny. No idea how he makes the weight.

He looks like such a nerd too :: Seems legit though, and well rounded - definitely one of the better TUF winners.

 

Wow, Frankie Edgar ruined Maynard's chin. He looked like he'd been hit by a crowbar after getting hit by a Diaz pitty pay punch.

That's true about Pennington, Juarez is the closest she is to "Rocky". Like Juarez she seemed half decent when she let her hands go, but just barely threw anything.

Why did Dana champion her so much? Trying to attract the gay community perhaps? :dunno:

 

Haha, same for me. There's actually something kind of manly about her face - which is accentuated with makeup - yet she is somehow quite attractive.

I'm also a fan since day 1. Can't help but like someone with that much fighting spirit. She is raw and scrappy, not particularly skilled or technical, but my god she fights HARD - and has that hardcore jungle woman strength. She is also one of those people that just seems to instinctively know how to fight.

That weight cut to prove a point just flat out impressed me. The fact that she won the coach's rock climbing challenge at the same time really underscores this chicks absolute need to win.

 

She's hideous. I can't wait till someone bashes her. Hopefully Peña's raw jungle woman strength can do the business :kidcool:

Pena would be in a sling for 6 months if she fought Rousey today.

I like the fact the she is already generating hype for a potential match-up down the road however.

 

The thing Rousey has proven is no position is safe. You can be in her guard. You can have her back with both hooks in. You can be in side control. And you are still at risk.

 

i doubt pena would get rousey on the ground. i see rousey hip tossing her w/ ease.

 

Peña is strong as fuck, she seems much stronger than most female fighters. Rousey obviously has better technique, but I think Peña's raw strength would enable her to get Rousey on the ground.

 

Getting Rousey on the ground isn't a good strategy.

Pena would be better served to use her "jungle strength" to keep the fight standing.

 

Strength is absolutely useless against someone who is significantly better trained than you.

Judo is all about leverage anyway, not pure strength.

She is not going to throw Ronda because Ronda has way better balance and leverage.

Athletically, she'd be better off trying a blast double but strength =/= explosiveness.

 

I agree, I'm not saying she should get her on the ground, too damn risky, that's Rousey's domain. Just saying I think she is plenty strong enough to, despite Rousey's better technique.

I also think she'd be better off using that jungle strength to keep the fight standing, rough Ronda up against the cage etc, and do everything possible NOT to go to the ground.

Not saying she'd win right now obviously, but I think she is legit. She just seems pretty beastly for a female fighter, with some extra polish I could see her being elite.

Weird she lost her 2 previous fights before getting into the house. Anyone know how she lost to Moras? Cut stoppage or what?

 

moras either broke her arm or elbow w/ an armbar. i think they were talking about that before they fought on the show. that's why i think moras was such a favorite going into that fight.
