Sacramento's Probably NEVER Been as Stout ATHLETICALLY, in REED's Opinion...

But Having Said That, Gay & McLemore are the SAME Player, Essentially...Gay's Obviously BETTER @ This Stage, but Sacramento HASN'T Expressed Unhappiness w/McLemore Either...Still, G-State's Made Iguodala FIT, so Hopefully Sacramento Can Figure Out a Way to Emphasize Gay WITHOUT Stunting McLemore's Growth...

REED Can't Sit Here & Say it's a BAD Thing, Adding an Athlete of Gay's Caliber, Because it ISN'T...

The problem with this scenario is there would be a creation of a second "championship" as in the NBA Championship and the "Draft championship." Also, there would be a plethora of 28-35 win teams especially if there is seeding involved, which would then mean, an abundance of 45-52 win teams at the top. You wouldn't see so many 60 win teams anymore, if any. You would have half the NBA not even aiming to win the NBA championship. This would cause situations of "mini" tanking. An example would be like a team such as the Lakers this year, would then want to hold Kobe out until the beginning of the Draft Championship, I could see 3-5 teams start doing this, not good for the NBA.

Another thing is past trades that have gone down including lottery protection like top 5 protection for x amount of years etc.... It would cause a clusterfuck of problems. Some teams would be pleased, some would be pissed under this change.

The type of NBA draft lottery we have now would be fine with some changes. The entire draft should be a lottery, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the actual lottery is only for the top 3 picks. Do the lottery for ALL lottery picks and even out the number of ping pong balls a bit more. Also add in some rules, such as a team cannot draft top 5 in 3 consecutive years or something like that.

Anyhow here's my Rocket report... Rockets don't need a PF anymore, Terrence Jones is doing a fine job since he's been put in the starting line up. Tonight he had 16pts 13rebs 5 blks 2 steals. He's improving every game and he's only 21 or 22 yrs old on a rookie scale contract. I think the Rockets would now be looking for a wing defender + a backup center and if they can't find those in a trade, I thinking draft picks for a future trade. I don't see Asik being with the Rockets past December 19th, as Rockets GM went public saying he wants a trade done by then.

Oakies looked brilliant beating up the Pacers who were on a back to back. Everyone played great, even Perkins was solid. I love that Jackson kid though, I'm not sure the Thunder are going to be able to afford him if he keeps playing this good. He's obviously not on the CP3/Westbrook or Rose level but I'd say he's on that next tier right under those guys were he could be a good starter. Hoperfully they let Perkins contract expire so they can open up enough room to sign Jackson to a resonable contract.

That Next Tier is Guys like Wall, Lillard, Curry, etc...Jackson ISN'T Quite There Yet, but Your Point STILL Stands...After Watching James Harden BLOSSOM & Kevin Martin BOUNCE, the Last Thing OKC Needs to Do is ALLOW Jackson to Leave...

Actually Wall and Curry are on the same tier as Paul and Westbrook. Lillard is close but yeah I agree Jackson is on the tier under Lillard.

Also you guys really need to stop the ridiculous hype of marginal role players.

Reggie Jackson is okay, but that's just it. He's an okay player. The best thing he does is rebound the ball well for his position. His scoring isn't really impressive as he shoots in high volume and inside the arc....if he expanded his range he'd be infinitely more valuable. Especially considering he's effectively an off ball 1 that can't really initiate an offense. He isn't worth much on the free market and if h wants to much they can easily replace him with a high first round pick.

You guys were even worse with Kawhi Leonard making it seem like he was some sort of future all-star because he had a good playoff series...

Curry is currently the best PG in the league. Wall is a tier below CP, Curry, and WB.

    Oh you're serious.

Curry is a terrific scorer and shot creator but until he learns to beat a trap and stop throwing half his passes to the other team he's not at Paul's level.

Paul at his best doesn't get taken out of games.

No he isn't. He's simply at the head of his class and even that is no guarantee he stays there. There were times last season when Tony Parker was playing better than Paul.

Marginal role player? The guy ran the team when Westbrook went down, and did a very serviceable job. He's a third year player and showing vast improvement each year, and I don't know if you've been watching the Thunder's games (sure sounds like you haven't) but he's doing a lot more than rebounding. He's coming in scoring with drives, mid ranges and threes, setting up teammates with nice assits, playing good D and being a good floor general. He's been a great back up for Westbrook and him, Lamb and Adams have been getting a lot of press about how strong the Thunder's bench is.

RJ is averaging 17 pts 5 rebs & 5 dimes while shooting 49% and so far this season when RJ and Durant are on the floor together they are the best plus/minus duo in the league. I hate to bring up stats in a discussion but I made my post about Jackson based on what I was seeing during the games. The stats simply back up what I said while making you look like you don't know what you're talking about.

There's Sooooooooo Many Variables to Being a PG in TODAY's NBA, that it's Difficult Ranking Them...

The PURE/TRUE PG's Who Look to PASS 1st, PASS 2nd & Take Over Offensively ONLY when the Team NEEDS It, Seem to Be a DYING bREED...Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, Ricky Rubio and Deron Williams are of that Ilk...

Most of Today's ELITE PG's are Actually COMBO Guards w/the Ability to Facilitate...SCORING is a Must...INSANE Athletic Ability is Also a Must, if you're a Combo Guard...A HEALTHY Derrick Rose is the Prototype...Westbrook or Wall will Carry the Torch if Rose's Best is Already BEHIND Him...Tony Parker's Not Quite as ATHLETIC as Rose, Westbrook or Wall, but he's Obviously in this Mix...Every Bit as EFFECTIVE, just w/Fewer Sportscenter Highlights...Lillard Seems to Be of this Ilk as Well, from what REED's Seen...

Curry's Clear Strength is Obviously his SHOOTING, but he's Steadily IMPROVING as a Facilitator...Curry's NOT a Combo Guard in the Sense that REED Described, but he's Not a PURE PG Either...

REED Loooooves that Curry Isn't Big, Isn't the Quickest Guy in the League, Doesn't Have Incredible Hops, yet is Completely UNGUARDABLE...As a Girls Hoop Coach, REED Loooooooooooves that Curry Dominates BELOW the Rim...

Ultimately, You have to Rate the PG by his Impact on the Team...You Don't Want Westbrook Being the PG of the Clippers...Chris Paul or Rondo WOULDN'T Take the Same Bulls Team as Deeeeeeeeeep Into the Playoffs as Derrick Rose Did...

    It's All about Need...

Pre-injury, CP3 was better than Rose ever was, and certainly could have carried that Bulls team that deep. CP3 was a BEAST for in NO before his injury, and never quite returned to that level since.

the clips just aren't very good. i'd be surprised if they make it to the western conference finals. even w/o rose, chicago last year was not far behind clippers. having said that, paul's better than rose.

I like Rose, really am a fan, but let's be honest; he was the worst player to ever win an MVP. The chances of him ever returning to his 2011 form are virtually zero now, but even at his best what he was is basically a homeless man's Iverson.
