Huge difference between getting dropped by ANgulo's left hook and Tito's. This isn't a matter of Lara. He's truly a quality fighter. This is about Tito really becoming PAINFULLY underrated over the years. I don't think Lara has the beard to take Tito's power when he lands. And prime Tito WOULD land on him.
Trinidad gets him out of there eventually, probably way down on the cards I don't trust Lara's beard or his focus
People forget how Winky and Hopkins used angles and a solid jab to keep Tito at bay while avoiding his flat footed left hook. Trinidad was at his best as a Welter because he had the size advantage. Many of his opponents thought they could just walk through him and that cost them dearly and Lara is crafty/savvy enough to take Tito to 12 rounds while ahead on the cards.
The Winky is irrelevant. Not only was that version of Trinidad a shell of his prime self, but Wright was a far tougher guy than Lara. Winky might have had Lara's firepower, but he kept a much more consistent workrate, and took a much better punch. The Hopkins fight isn't worth noting either, because well....... Lara isn't in prime Hopkins' league. In fact, he's not even REMOTELY close. Trinidad's prime weight class was pretty clearly 154. He killed himself for YEARS to make 147. The guy was always a junior middle fighting at 147, and his best overall performance was by far the Vargas fight at 154. Lara isn't a defensive wiz. He's very solid defensively, but he can be tagged. And not only would Trinidad by applying CONSTANT pressure, but I think you're really underestimated Tito's handspeed. Felix Trinidad is criminally underrated on here. He would have knocked Lara dead at some point in the fight.
Yeah some people here are trying too hard to troll, especially when comparing Lara to Wright or a prime Hopkins. For the record, I like Lara and think he's an excellent fighter. But memories have become so short that some on here have forgotten how much trouble he's had with guys like Angulo, Vanes, and Molina. I can only imagine how easily a prime Trinidad destroys them. So with all due respect, some of you don't know what your talking about. Trinidad KO 10 down on the cards feels about right. He might get dropped but he'd warm up and find the range like he did against Reid. Lara doesn't have the stamina or the chin IMO to hold off Trinidad for 12 rounds.
I'm not trolling dude, it's my opinion and you can search almost all the mythical matchups here I have Trinidad winning most of the time. But I don't think he wins them all.
Everybody who ever beat Tito had a solid chin. Even if you had Oscar beating him, if nothing else DLH had a great chin. Lara does not. He would get hit eventually, and when he does, his chin would not react well. I'm a Lara FAN, probably one of the top 3 Lara fans on the board. But prior to last night nobody would be saying Lara beats Tito. Now suddenly he schools a feather fisted counter puncher like Austin Trout, and suddenly he also shuts out an accurate, devastating punching pressure fighter like Tito?
You saw Lara's fights with Angulo and Vanes right???... It's one thing to recover from being hurt against Angulo but Trinidad is quicker, harder hitting, and has better stamina than Angulo... No need to even mention Molina because he's not in Trinidad's league and he gave Lara all kinds of problems. There's more argument to compare that than comparing Lara to Winky and let alone a prime B-Hop. Lara doesn't have the defense nor jabbing ability that those guys have nor the chin to take Trinidad's shots.
The thing is, Tito couldn't fight a lick. A simple jab and guard can shut him down a la Winky, so shaky chin or not - a skilled, nimble boxer like Lara would 12-0 him for sure.
Guys that would have lost to Tito and his plaster cast anvil fists, but that aren't as easy to shut down with a jab.
Oh please. Angulo was outboxed by KERMIT FUCKING CINTRON, and Vanes is a total, and complete bum. You're such a Tito troll that your opinions on him can't be taken seriously.
Let's see: Lara is a future Hall of Fame inductee, right? because you are saying he will beat with no problems a recognized Hall of Fame great. My two cents: Lara will fare no better than David Reid, whom I think could have defeated Lara with not much trouble.
Listen asshole, when did I mentioned Kevin Kelley? Moron. But since you bring Kelley, wasn't he knocked out in four rounds by zero defense Naseem Hamed? what's your logic?
I think Lara is better than Reid, but I agree he'd fare no better. I see him starting off well with his movement and hand speed. He may even drop Trinidad. But once Tito finds the rhythm, he'd take over and give Lara a frightful beating. Lara's never fought anyone with the power and accuracy that Trinidad brings, and Tito did have quick hands. Not on a Roy Jones level obviously. But Tito is faster than Angulo, Williams, and Trout. Vanes is just a bum. Lol. So yeah Tito wins for sure.
