Szpilka is crap. He is an entertaining guy but he is crap. And I don't mean he is crap because he has no skill, since heavyweights these days can be effective without old-fashioned skill, I mean he is crap because he can't take a punch, doesn't punch hard and has no other abilities to beat anyone who isn't very crap either. Thus, Jennings wins. yes, he is a leap-amateur, but they are the future
Considering HBO PUBLICLY Swore Off Heavyweights, it's STRANGE they'd Broadcast This Fight... REED:hammert:
Szpilka hasn't shown anything, suggesting he can beat Jennings. I agree with Ugo, might be leap-amateurish, but he has decent workrate and defense to school Szpilka. And I don't even like Jennings as a fighter.
spillzka has a very good chance to beat Jennings. He may not have swon that he's all that but then, neither has Jennings. Should be a good test for the both of them.
I guess they are not above televising a fun fight every now and then. While I don't think it's a premium channel matchup, a fight like this would have been a nice break in the everyone-of-these-fights-is-going-the-distance marathons we had on Saturday night.
HBO could be trying to muscle in on Jerseys/New Yorks Polack money spinning scene a la Showtime with Adamek.
I think Jennings has shown he wouldn't go life and death with a guy like Mollo and that is more than enough to handle Szpilka.
Well, he had a close fight with Maurice Byarm who's probably a level or two under Mollo. Sure he's probably imporved since then but I don't see how Szpilka can't improve either.
I think it is a style issue more than class issue. Szpilka is one of those young guys who have learned to box by standing in front of heavy bag and swinging as hard as possible. Thus, if the opponent comes at him, he can be pretty effective, but if the damn guy moves just a little bit, he is pretty useless. Jennings can move better than almost anyone at heavyweight now, thus he wins by landslide
Arreola wantes to fight Jennings a short while ago, but I'm not so sure Jennings was up for the challenge.
Szpilka was turned away at the border! Flew back to Poland and is awaiting his visa problems to be resolved! I hope it`s not some shady doings of his management. They were very against this fight, Szpilka told them if they don't let him fight he retires from boxing,so they cave in. Szpilka is very vocal about fighting bums, he said he doesn't want to pad his record and fighting a guy like Jennings win or lose is better than fighting 5 nobodies. He's very right and I applaud him for it. Hope this fight goes down!
"fighting bums" :: he, himself, is a vagrant. this polish terrorist must have an angel on his shoulder to save him from an inevitable ass whipping. jennings isnt exactly holyfield either. he is rubbish as well
