Edge of Tomorrow Trailer

Holy shit, enough with the Tom Cruise sci fi/apocalypse movies.

 

Looks great. Tom Cruise sure knows how to pick projects.

 

Last movie of his I liked was Collateral. He should do more movies like that, where he plays an arrogant prick.

 

Collateral was awesome. What other movies by him have you watched?

 

This looks like Vanilla Sky mixed with Starship Troopers.

Has anyone read "The Forever War"? The movie seems somewhat similar.

 

Ridley Scott was supposedly developing a movie adaptation of Joe Haldeman's 'Forever War', but is being a while since I read that.

 

Jack Reacher was crap.

 

Looks like the same people who made the "Battle L.A." trailer, made this one. Hopefully they're not pulling the wool over our eyes again.

 

Valkyrie was decent? That movie was great and so was Jack Reacher, and the last two M.I movies were awesome as well. All of those movies have very high replay value. I'm not a big fan of Tropic Thunder (although the Cruise scenes were my favorite parts of the whole damn film) and I pretty much hated Oblivion but this movie here looks like it's going to be good.

 

Yeah I hadn't heard anything about the project in the last year. I think it would be a fantastic series but a confusing,truncated movie.

 

Jack Reacher was very good.

It will get a 6.8 on imdb and 55% rating on RT.

 

Edge of Tomorrow getting very good reviews. They see it as a succesfull mix of Groundhog day and Starship Troopers.

 

I'm still on the fence on this one. While it looks visually arresting and seems to have a complicated, intelligent plot, there is something about it...maybe the Vanilla Sky flavor, that really turns me off. I'll definitely will watch it at some point, though, but I am not hyped about it.

I haven't seen the movie and only know what the trailers show, but I have the gut feeling all this is happening in the brain of Cruise's character while 'asleep' in a la/hospital bed...like in Vanilla Sky.
