broner getting a lot of hate. in my honest opinion, he moved up in weight way too fast and lost to a very good fighter. he's obviously not the next floyd, but let's be fair, maidana is better than a lot of the guys floyd fought on his way up in weight. i personally think maidana would've KOed hatton.

Honestly, I can't think of a more satisfying result than last saturdays. Usually I have a degree of sympathy when a fighter cops a career-threatening beating like that, but with Broner - not one iota. The guy is just SO fucking unlikeable. From the way he speaks to people, the flushing money down the toilet shenanigans, the casual disrespect for the sport that made his name, the chatting shit about opponents AFTER a fight (huge no-no for me, disgraceful stuff)...there's just no redeeming feature. Not to mention the fact he was NEVER anywhere near as good as advertised, hadn't actually beaten anybody worthwhile, and was never a three-weight "world champion".

Floyd is a cunt, but I have always had huge respect for him as a boxer, and he takes the sport seriously (and always shows his opponents respect after a fight). It wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable seeing him get beat.

Agree with this word for word, including having huge respect for Floyd. I always feel like I am rooting for Floyd to lose, but when the fight starts I almost always end up rooting FOR him as he's just so good ::

And by the way, Floyd might be dislikeable, and a bit of a cunt, but he seems kind of harmless compared to Broner. More like a big kid. Broner seems like a true cunt to the core.

Very true, I've actually warmed somewhat to Floyd over the years. Although I find some of the shit he says ridiculous and repetitive he's at least earned the right to talk shit by mastering his craft. You have to admire his skill, the guy is a genius.

 

I dunno. Amir is stupid, and is hardly the most likeable guy out there but at least he tries not to come across as a cunt (sometimes). He's never bitched up in a fight like Broner did either, whatever you can say about his skill (or lack of it), he always comes to fight.

I find Khan way more annoying. Constantly trying to massage what he says like a phony but being too fucking stupid to get it right.

 

I've always hated Khan and his stupid boxbot style, but I think Broner might be the single most dislikeable fighter I've ever seen, even more than Hamed. He is a hideous cunt.

 

As I said before, I found Hamed funny. He was arrogant but it always came across as tongue-in-cheek rather than cuntish (with the McCulough fight being the exception).

 

With Broner allot of it's just a childish, hyped up act - you can see him maturing out of his annoyingness eventually. Khan on the other hand's just a dumb cunt. A sub-normal, insecure phony. He'll be a bigger cunt in 20 years than he is now.

 

I see what you're saying regarding much of it being childish idiocy - which I'm sure we've all exhibited to some extent - the thing is though, my gut feeling is that Broner is just a total cunt. More so than Khan and Floyd.

 

I really don't see it. I find Khan (the man) annoying for sure. He's dumb as shit and you'd probably end up like Jack Nicholson after the shock treatment in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest if you found yourself in a long conversation with the guy, but he's just too stupid to really be a cunt. Broners personality is downright offensive, I don't see the guy maturing any time soon.
