Sure, Broner MILKED it, but Let's NOT Pretend Maidana Didn't Butt him Pretty Hard Either...Broner had ALREADY Been Dropped that Round, THEN Absorbed the Headbutt...He Exaggerated it, Cole WASN'T Buying it, Case Closed...

@ No Point Before OR After, Did Broner Attempt to "Bitch Out", so REED Isn't Sure why Soooo MUCH is Being Made about It...When Guys like Bernard Hopkins or Duran Bend the Rules or Manipulate the Refs to their Advantage, it's Called Being "Crafty"...But Since Everybody HATES Broner, he's Labeled a "Bitch"...

Sorry, but a "Bitch" WOULDN'T have Been Looking for KO in the 12th Round, After Taking an Asswhipping like that for the Previous 11....

This probably belongs in Reeds thread, but its a bit of both. Broner failed in a lot of areas, but much like Khan, he did impress with his ability to soak it up. Lets bear in mind, he's not a WW, he doesn't have WW power but he showed some WW resistance.

Trying to bitch out of a fight is bitch behaviour. Punching people on the other side of the ref etc is 'crafty'.:Thumb:

Let's face it, if thats what he did, and I think it is, he did fight on for another 4 rounds. Additionally..........Santana, Michelczweski, Griffin, Hopkins, and lots of "name" fighters have used some illegality on the behalf of their opponents to sneak out of bad situations they were in.

You laugh but that fight and the Khan fight are the reasons why me and many people thought Broner would outpoint Maidana rather easily. I've certainly overrated Broner's ability but Maidana isn't as inept as he looked in the Alexander fight.

I don't think Broner is a bitch. He bitched, momentarily, but once his bitch had been denied, he went back to trying to win the fight. Its like Arthur Abraham vs Pantera Miranda, you can bitch that a guy with a broken jaw wanted a way out, but you can't bitch about how he went about his job, once the bitch-door was closed.

Nope, he showed more grit than I thought he had for sure. I've always had him pegged as a bitch, I thought he'd quit when the going got tough.

He did exhibit blatant bitchness last night, cheap shots, gunning for a DQ, running off crying after the decision - but he is a fairly gritty bitch I guess.

You're right actually, he used to be very crude and caveman like, face first, about to topple over. He now does kind of hang his weight back, and is craftier, nice feints etc.

I guess Garcia is actually a pretty good trainer.

maidana's been hurt by lesser punchers. there were times where broner got his attention, but i didn't see any shots that really hurt maidana throughout the fight. so based on his low work rate and not so devastating power at 147, i can't see how broner would beat other world class guys at 147. shit even at 140, i'd make him an underdog vs garcia and matthyssee.

maybe he took this fight lightly and can come redeem himself in the rematch. i'd much rather see that than maidana losing 12 rounds vs. floyd.

Broner wins a far more valuable battle than the PR one, though. I'm sure he has made more money than all but a very select few number of fighters with similar resumes. Broner gets the first laugh, the middle laugh, and assuming he wants the last laugh, he'll get it, too.

Maidana is one of my favorite fighters so I'm glad he gets to benefit from beating Broner. As an interesting sidenote, there cannot be many active fighters around right now that have been televised in the US as much as Maidana thanks to TyC. He's been a staple on there from the beginning of his career.
