its weird but mayweather jr beat zab judah and some argentine guy one year and everyone said he had a shitty year. now garcia does it several years later and its some big deal??
Garcia shouldn't even be in contention. Matthysse was a good win, but a 900 year old Judah (who just lost to Malignaggi) is less than impressive
Gotta Be Floyd or Rigondeaux... w/All the UNWARRANTED Criticism of Rigondeaux STYLISTICALLY, it'll Probably Be Floyd... REED:hammert:
beating alvarez meant it would be mayweather jr no matter what rigondeaux did. he couldve KOd donaire and agbeko in the first round each time and still wouldnt win it
Garcia has one good win this year... He competitively decisioned a Judah that had previously been battered by A Mere Con and in his next fight was comprehensively outboxed by Paulie fucking Malignaggi... Other than that, you have Matthysse, which is a very good win Rigo bamboozled one of the best P4P fighters in the sport... That shits all over Garcia... There is no fucking way Garcia is FOTY
Kovalev is the guy whose performances in 2013 have everyone in his weight class running away like bitches. P4P #1 is also a lot more comfortable residing at the weight class below Kovalev.
that you did. my apologies, no need to channel your inner oakland with such vulgarity, winter glove. it just seems preposterous that people would select garcia over bradley.
I apologize in return. Sometimes the inner Oakland in me still comes to the surface. Counseling has helped though.
The "Fighter of the Year" will be Floyd Mayweather or Guillermo Rigondeaux or Danny Garcia or Tim Bradley or someone else.
It was a fans choice and the majority chose GGG. We'll find out who Ring Magazine's official choice is in due course.
I wouldnt hugely begrudge Golovkin it though. Guys deserve some reward for fighting 4 times a year and fighting with the intent he does
I really like what I have seen from GGG but Floyd fought twice and beat the undefeated Canelo this year for the unified 154 belt. Has to be Floyd.
I'd pick Rigondeaux by clear margin before Floyd. Defeating Donaire clearly surpasses defeating Canelo and their other wins are on the same level. Stevensson third before GGG and Kovalev
There's noway GGG should be fighter of the year, not even close. Even on activity, both Stevenson and Kovalev had the same amount of bouts and both had far tougher opposition.
