Thoughts? Chris already beat Silva BRUTALLY, SAVAGELY, and MERCILESSLY. Not only did he beat him, he beat him @ the one area which was SUPPOSED to be Silva's huge advantage. So if Chris this time around plays to his OWN advantages and plays the wrestling game, it should be quite easy, and even EASIER if you add the fact that Silva will be now very, very careful on his feet as well. Chris is only getting better at this MMA game, meanwhile Anderson is up there in age, and that is never good for a guy who depends on reflexes. He will be some 6 months older since the first fight, and that's never good considering his age. I think Anderson always knew Chris would be trouble, hence his reluctance to fight him in the first place, and even more so to rematch (Until Dana talked zeros that is) To conlude... Anything...ANYTHING can happen with Anderson, never count him out he's an all time great, but I just see Weidman using his wrestling and finishing this with G&P in round 3.

Weidman is Silva's kryptonite. He's a great wrestler with a big punch. Career over for Silva in 7 days.

Ya'll Apparently Saw a DIFFERENT Fight than REED Did...

Weidman Took Silva Down Early, UNsuccessfully Attempted Submissions & Silva Got Up...Silva STUFFED Takedown Attempts from There...Silva was Evading Weidman's Punches Pretty EASILY Until Getting EXTREMELY Careless & CAUGHT...Silva DESERVED to Get KO'ed that Night...

But to Say Weidman "Brutally, Savagely and Mercilesslly" Beat Silva OR that he's Silva's "Kryptonite" WAS NOT Illustrated in the Fight REED Saw...

Obviously, Silva Needs to Be More CAREFUL/RESPECTFUL, but there's No Doubt he Can BEAT This Guy...Takedown Defense, STRIKING Over Showboating...That's the Recipe...If Silva Does that, Weidman DOESN'T Last 3 Full Rounds & We Can Then Discuss a Condom Match...

I agree actually. Obviously I wouldn't be surprised at all if Wideboy won again, but I think a focused, motivated Silva beats him, without the stupid clowning around etc. I'm picking Andy.

silva wasn't doing a whole lot offensively in the first fight. i suppose he might be more focused this time around, but i think weidman's just too young and strong. even if silva's able to win the stand up exchange, i think weidman can take him down easily. weidman TKO3.

Weidman was landing more punches to Silva before the knockout.

Also, when Weidman had silva on the ground in the first round, he punched Silva so hard his eyes rolled back.

That knockout is kind of the definition of "brutal".

It's Also the Definition of a FREE SHOT or SHOTS, as the Case May Be...

But it's NOT as If Weidman was DOMINATING or OWNING Silva, en Route to "Brutally" KO'ing him...

Yeah Weidman himself said that after those G&P shots in round 1 he saw Silva's eyes roll to the back of his head, he knew the fight was his. Silva didn't "clown" because he was overconfident, he clowned because he tried to throw Weidman off his game, and do something stupid, thus I'm positive a more disciplined Silva in the RE will not change a thing.

My perception was that he was clowning just for the sake of it, and to be cocky though. It didn't seem like he NEEDED to throw Weidman off his game, it's not like he was getting dominated by Weidman.

I can pick boxing matches very well, but I am pretty crap at picking MMA fights, so Weidman probably wins again

he was clowning to throw off Weidman. He wanted weidman to trade with him and not try for the take down.

Precisely, it was Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay Toooooo EARLY in the Fight to Say ANYBODY was Being Dominated...Weidman Got Silva Down EARLY, Supposedly Made his "Eye's Roll" While he Had him there, yet NEVER 1nce VISIBLY HURT Silva Until the End...

Silva SHOOK Off Weidman's Attempted GNP, Got Up, EASILY EVADED Most of Weidman's Shots, Took Some Others w/Absolutely NO Duress, then Got Caught, Hurt, Dropped & Subsequently KO'ed by a Shot he DIDN'T See Coming...Silva Leaned Back from a Shot, w/his Arms by his Side & was GRAZED...Despite that, Motherfucker Leaned Back AGAIN, Hands Down & was RIGHTFULLY KO'ed by a Shot he DIDN'T See OR Brace Himself For...

Silva WON'T Make a 180 Degree Change, Especially @ his Age, but just a BIT More SERIOUSNESS Will Get him a WIN over Weidman, then it's Off to the Condom Match...

If it's so easy, why hasnt anyone in the UFC done it before?

Both guys fought exactly as they normally do. They both employed the same styles and game plans that lead them to undefeated records in the UFC. And Weidman won convincingly and took very little damage in the process.

Combine those things with the fact that Silva is 38 while Weidman is still young and improving, and it makes it difficult for me to pick Silva in rematch.

Most Guys Get SPOOKED by Silva's Tactics...To Weidman's Credit, as Silva Kept CLOWING, Weidman Kept Pursuing & THROWING...

This is how Silva fights. That is why Silva is so successful because he fights with his hands down. He wasnt playing around. He was fighting his style. He just fought someone better that night. It happens.

Nah, Silva was CLOWNING vs. Weidman...

There's a Difference in STRATEGICALLY Leaving your Hands Down (Which Silva ALSO Does from Time to Time) & CLOWNING...Silva CLOWNED vs. Forrest Griffin & Some Others, but to Say "This is How he Fights" ISN'T Completely Accurate...

REED's Probably Seen ALL of Silva's UFC Fights...He DIDN'T Clown vs. Leben, Franklin, Henderson, Irvin...REED ISN'T Saying Silva Needs to Fight w/a High & Tight Winky Wright Guard vs Weidman, just Be a Bit More SERIOUS, Which he's DEMONSTRATED he Can Do...

The Irvin fight was 1 minute long. Leben doesnt need to be clowned with. He stands right in front of you. This is Anderson vs. Franklin. [IMG][IMG]

    You dont see the similarities?

In the majority of Silva's fights even before the UFC, he was doing the same thing he did to Weidman. That is how he fights. He didnt fuck up or do something different. He just got beat.

It's irrelevant if he always clowns or not. He better fucking don't next time. And as REED pointed out. With clowning you have a choice you can chose not to do it and fight seriously. It's not like he's Arturo Gatti and just HAS to brawl all the time.

Clowning doesnt mean he isnt fighting seriously. He is very serious when he fights.
