I think Quartey whoops the Pacman, honestly. His jab would have Manny off balance all night.

I don't know. Quartey is a better welter than anybody Manny has fought but Ike's jab alone wouldn't win it for him. Pacquiao doesn't get hit as cleanly against the bigger guys because his speed and footwork is something they (welters) never have to deal with. I think Manny can dart in and out on Ike and has the stamina to pull off the job. Fascinating fight though.

VERY Intriguing Fight...Ike was ALL Jab & Right Hand, but that's Been Pac's KRYPTONITE...Meanwhile, Manny NEVER Gets Tired, Which was Ike's Achilles Heel...REED Hates to Donnybrook it, but he Can See Each Guy Winning 5 Times in a 10 Fight Series...

Pacquiao. Quartey simply wasn't THAT good. Bit too simple and predictable for Pacquiao. He'd get outsped and outworked.

Ike was a VERY STRONG Welter Though, Mex...& Yeah, Pac Would have a Speed Advantage, but Even Margarita was Able to Track Pac Down for Moments of Success...Ike Would Have THE BEST Jab of Anybody Pac's EVER Faced, Bro....

Agreed and agreed, I just don't think it would be enough. Plasterito was bigger, stronger, and more aggressive than Quartey, but ultimately it just didn't matter much in the face of Pacquiao's workrate, speed, and movement.

Quartey was good - excellent jab, strong, good power etc, but he was fairly slow on his feet, and predictable. Just don't think he really has the style of ability to beat Pacquiao.

I've always found Pacquiao to be more troubled with right hand counters and combos than anything else, which explains Morales' and Marquez's success.

Pac hasn't fought a Welter that could shine Ike Quartey's shoes

Has Pacquiao ever fought a PRIME welterweight?

    IMO, no

I suppose you could argue Cotto

It's my main issue with Manny's reign at welterweight.

He's fought no welterweight the caliber of the 90s guys much less the 80s guys.

I think prime Quartey destroys shot Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and shot Mosley. And he wouldn't need catch weights to do it either.

Nor do I think Marquez gives Ike any problems at 147. Quartey wouldn't need the judges there.

I think so too but both the Cotto and Margarito fights would be interesting.

Definitely would. Cotto would be more competitive than Margarito, I think, though.

Tony even with his illegal wraps would just get countered to death and I don't think he would be able to push back young Ike.
