The amazing thing is this is what Weidman said he wanted to work on. The leg checks.

UFC trying to hype up Weidman even more. Fluke win.

First round wasnt a fluke tho was it?

Anderson is one of those guys that jumps your heart rate before the fight even begins.

I'm a bit somber that this is probably the end.

Weidman was probably going to win anyway and the co-main was great so tonight wasnt a total failure.

    It's a sad ending.

I wouldn't take credit for that even if the UFC is pretending that I did something great. Props to Weidman that he didn't .

I asked you about the First round. Where Anderson was out on his feet.

Ironic that the end of a era might be the start of the new one.

This kid that's fighting now might be something special.

Macario or whatever? He looks pretty good, I wouldn't say he looks special.

He's the most composed, relaxed, economical striker I've seen in MMA other than Anderson.

I wish Jose Aldo would fight like this as he has absolutely incredible talent.

Patolino was toying with Voelker in the third...throwing spinning elbows and elliptical kicks and basically acting like he was sparring on a guy who has a reputation as a puncher.

In MMA striking is so rudimentary and basic.

    Theres three types of fighter

There's guys with power - Most strikers

There's guys with speed - Barao, Aldo, Edgar, Johnson, etc.

    Then theres Anderson Silva...

yeah but his defense needs work. If not he will get KOed soon. we are talking about patolino right?

    By who?

Voelker landed only 10 percent of his punches.

    What landed on him?

He didn't get hit clean all fight.

    Wow! Nasty leg break!

This is Voelker's third loss in a row. He aint shit no more man. When the guy moves up in competition he better get some better head movement and put his hands up.

Well to be fair he was robbed against Cote and Lawler is a top 5 WW.

Secondly his head movement is what I like most about him. He moves just enough to avoid punches and has his eyes wide open while it's happening so he can actually do this magical thing called counter punch.

There's about 2 counter punchers in the sport so I wasn't surprised when Sherdoggers were bamboozled by his tactics.....while meanwhile slurping up Conor McGregor who leaves his chin in the air while punching and doesn't even move side to side. The MMA norm for striking seems to be the in and out crap and/or bouncing around in a circle like Johnson and Edgar. Or just standing still and throwing haymakers if they are punchers.

Also his use of parries is excellent, with both his arms and his elbows.

Let's be real, Joe B is a big power puncher at flyweight and literally was brutally KO'd on national TV by a guy with one KO win in some large amount of fights because he literally closed his eyes while throwing a wide hook and got punched with a punch he didn't see.

    Brutally amateur.

I'm much less worried about a guy like this than the "hands up, chin down" guys that don't even possess even rudimentary defensive skill or boxing IQ.

Also, he landed a check hook. That alone makes him awesome.

Whew. What an entertaining night. Rousey is simply a force. She absolutely beat the heart out of Tate. Those judo throws on Miesha's double-leg attempts were as good as it gets.

And, with all that Anderson Silva has done in MMA, that horrific leg break will be talked about more tomorrow than anything before.

Loved Miller's armbar win. Loved watching Diego Brandao get punished in the cage for missing weight by 8 pounds. And most of all, loved watching Josh "The Baby Faced Roid User" Barnett get beaten to a bloody, unconscious pulp.

I missed the Travis Browne\Josh Barnett fight. Who won?

    Trplsec? Godfather?

    TFK

Stupid comment. 24 rounds say otherwise.

Agree. This doesn't match up with the '10x' comment.

Fluke? Dude won every round against the guy and beat the fuck out of him in round 1. You are a born dullard in regard to everything.

Silva should quit. Going out by kicking someone in the leg is more admirable and acceptable than being kod or choked out

Why 'shouldn't' he? Because he's a fucking cheating juicer. Why wouldn't he? I agree, he will be.

    That's not what I meant.....

Agree though Im surprised you are even watching.

It's bittersweet as I largely suspect Anderson was shot and would've gotten stopped, but it's hard to see him go as a lifelong fan.

He's one of the few guys in MMA where every time he steps into the cage it's special.

I got the pre-fight jitters in GSP's last fight but hardly against the likes of Shields, Koscheck, Hardy etc... Definitely dont get them with the likes of Cruz, Johnson, Pettis....and Jones and Cain are dependent on their matchups for me.

Also to the person who made the Ronda comment, I find her oddly attractive when she's fighting...not so much otherwise.

    It's really weird.
