Shannon stole that scene but he didnt steal the movie. He was only in a for about 4 minutes. And im sorry, but Shannon, Dicaprio's friend or winslet never once had a scene this powerful in that movie.

Age doesnt mean anything. THe fact he started young adds to his legacy. The 70s is the golden age of movies. But deniro's movies and characters were similar. Not much range between them. And this coming from the biggest bobby D fan out there.

Agreed, DeNiro was an all time great in some of the best movies.

It's very difficult for any current actor to compete with the likes of Dog Day Afternoon, Taxi Drive etc

 

Those movies are great movies. And please with your bullshit. You probably havent seen the majority of them. You havent seen one of his best performances ever in Django and gonna try and tell me some shit. Also, Deniro wasnt even the star of Mean Streets so you cant put the whole movie on him.

And Dicaprio was fantastic in Basketball Diaries. You think most of the movies i listed are shit just proves my point. You have no credibility. Sorry.

 

This scene by dicaprio was brilliant. And could rival Deniro's performance in Mean Street's in terms of range.

Overall, yes. But not comparing by the age of 40.

 

After the age of 40, deniro turned in some unbelievable performances. But Dicaprio just turned 40 so lets see where it goes.

Dicaprio has a job to do. The problem is that Dicaprio is putting out oscar level performances almost every movie now. And deniro and this list arent all oscar potential performances. And while Deniro is Fucking great, his acting range also peaked at one point during his 40s and his characters started to become the same.

 

But again, you have no credibility when it comes to movies so who gives a shit what you think.

 

I mean cdogg is a guy that says an academy award winner for best actor cant act. How the hell can you even come close to knowing what you are talking about.

I make that mistake sometimes too.

 

While i didnt love Titanic because Im not a woman (their target audience) i can still appreciate it for it being a big movie. The acting, set production, producing, editing and just sheer magnitude beat out any movie that year up for nomination. What movie would you have had win that year?

Gladiator was awesome and should have won over all the other categories nominated.

The oscars make mistakes, no doubt. But they usually make mistakes with winners, but not nominations. And even if you are nominated, which cage has won and been nominated for, proves you have some acting chops. Anyone that has seen adaptation (probably cage's best performance) and Leaving las vegas and says he cant act, has no credibility.
