I'm starting to think Pantypisss really is your dad... damn:dunno:

 

I saw it an hour ago. I'd rank it 8/10 or maybe 7,5. It was good, no question, but perhaps I had my expectations a bit higher after all the praise it has gotten.


First the good part. It made three hours go quick, the acting was excellent (yes, also Di Caprio, although I didn't see it as an Oscar worthy performance), it was witty, the atmosphere in the company was captured well and there was a reason for all the nudity and f-words (assuming you need a reason for that).

"However" I was expecting a bit more point from such a long movie, especially since it was done by Scorcese. The main points were that money is a drug and the most dangerous one of them all, people are greedy, people make money by fucking poor people in the ass, people who go after the American Dream are actually fucking America in the ass, being poor and having dignity is good yet we never learn. For three hours these points were rammed in the viewers head my several comparisons and lines. It all has been said numerous times before, although WOWS says it better than most movies

 

So, in other words, Right Wingers will be infuriated by it and call it "socialist"?

 

Probably, though the movie is so overboard that it will be easy to say "we are not really like that"

 

they do that anyway

 

This movie is about Wall Street.

 

I thought Di Caprio deserved an Oscar for Inception.

 

Actually more people tend to agree with my points of view then yours. You tend to like movies the average joe doesn't, like Terrence Malick films or the first Incredible Hulk movie or you think Foxy Brown is Tarintino's best movie. It's almost like you pride yourself on having a different view then everyone else yet you won't aknowledge it's a different or unpopular point of view, instead you'll argue it's the right one.

And what do you mean my knowledge on movies? We're talking about opinions here.

Fucking guy made a movie called Jackie Brown starring the woman who played Foxy Brown and he did it because he is obsessed with 70s kitsch and you are going to pretend that you didn't know exactly which movie lb for lb meant to type?

 

lb for lb's typo is poetic in so many ways... Tarantino is so fucking derivative

the one only stretch of film he was ever associated with that I enjoy is every second of Samuel L. Jackson in "Pulp Fiction" who transcended the script and made it his own

 

To his Credit, Tarantino Makes Entertaining Films, just SPARE REED the Bullshit about his "Genius" or "Innovative Brand of Filmmaking"...

 

His Dialogue is LENGTHY & Oftentimes SUPERFLUOUS to the Plot Itself...

 

Matter of Opinion...You Could Also Argue Most of his 5-10 Minute Loooooooong Written Diatribes Could Be CONDENSED...If a Straight Line is the Shortest Distance Traveled, Tarantino CONSISTENTLY Drives in Circles...If that's "Brilliant" in Your Opinion, MORE Power to You...
