Heat was good but to compare it to the godfather movies you most likely never watched the godfather movies

Heat and Godfather arent even in the same league. Both are great, no doubt. But one is considered by many to be the greatest movie ever. The other has never EVER been mentioned in that category.

Im a big Pacino fan but i think he makes Heat borderline unwatchable. His shouting is ridiculous

That is how pacino has been lately. That is why to me, deniro completely outclassed him in the movie. That being said, i still found it watchable. I enjoyed every minute of the movie. But i could see why people would be turned off by pacino's performance.

    this

it's like claiming "Pet Sematary" is a greater novel than "War and Peace"

Yeah but it makes his movies more memorable to me that he doesnt show up so often. Did you ever watch his show Robbery Homicide Division?

Why is "Heat" being compared to the "Godfather" movies? They have nothing in common apart from a couple of actors.

Maybe "Goodfellas" or the long form "Once Upon A Time In America".

"Godfather I & II" are certifiably great movies, but they ARE a little bit of work to get through. "Goodfellas" I could catch any random 10 minutes of, and I'm usually hooked.

Ask Joe King. Like i said, those two movies never get compared. It's strange.

godfather and godfather 2 are awesome...but godfather 3 brings the total score way down

    it's like this
    godfather 1 = 10/10
    godfather 2 = 10/10
    godfather 3 = 4/10

    total score of 24/30....bah bowww

Which is why The Back To The Future trilogy is better (getting back to the original post)

I use to think Godfather 3 was a 7. Then i watched it with Coppola's commentary and it actually improved it for me.

It's funny about Godfather. I noticed many people didnt like it because the movie goes from the family isnt as powerful as it was. That it was reduced to nothing in terms of power and they werent was prominant was they once were. But that was the point of the movie. The point was to make the family suffer and diminish due to Michael's actions in the past. And how, by doing the complete opposite of "family first" like his father told him, that he would forever bring the family down. And because of the actions, michael was to be tormented for the rest of his life. That is why he lived to be an old man and basically reduced to being alone in the field dying. When Vito died, he was with family who loved him. His wife left him, his son wanted no part of him and his family. His daughter was killed. When Michael died he was alone and in reality nobody gave a fuck. capolla mentioned how if he made a 4th film, the family would be reduced to a bunch of junkies and thieves who rob from the back of trucks and shit. similar to goodfellas. He wanted to show how the family, in Michael's hands, turned into exactly what his father predicted.

Godfather 1 and 2 = amazing acting by Pacino, subtle, quiet, showing restraint

Godfather 3 = loud Pacino, a completely opposite Michael Corleone

That's why the movie is dog shit...4/10

sure, that would account for it a little bit, but i just can't see a character changing 180 degrees like that

    what a fuck up

  29. Anthony

    Anthony Admin Staff Member

It's not even a 180 degree change. After kay had the abortion, his mother died and he killed his brother, the man completely changed forever.

or Al Pacino wanted to be loud and couldn't be bothered acting harder...it's just not the same character at all

i just google searched and i'm not alone in my view :bears: :bears: imdb alone has like 10 threads on this

    4/10
