To me the only redeemable aspect of Godfather part III was the character played by Andy Garcia which made me hope for a part 4 just about him as the new Family Capo. The rest is a borefest.

if he played part 4 he would be a junkie taking the family further down into shit just like puzo and capolla wanted.

Shawshank Redemption is also better than The Godfather.

I just caught this. IMDB usually has at least 10 threads for every single movie ever made about how it's "The Worst Movie, Actress, Actor, Performance, Director, etc., etc......." EVER!

of course. you could find ten threads about how terrible any movie on that site. that site is full of haters. in the end, common sense could rises. What's funny is that rotten tomatoes also gives Godfather three about the same score of 78 for the audience section. The pro's give it a 68.

I think Shawshank is pretty good, but it must one of the most wildly over-rated movies ever.

It's amazing though, that Frank Darabont has only made 4 feature films. 2 of them over-rated IMO (Shawshank, Green Mile), 1 under-rated at first (The Mist), that grabbed a nice following long after it hit theaters, and one I've never seen, and nobody ever talks about "The Majestic".

    :scratcher:

what does the rating for the movie have to do with the fact that Pacino fucked up the Michael Corleone character? :dunno:

I swear, Pacino could make 12 movies in a row about deaf-mute characters and people would still accuse him of playing his "Scent Of A Woman" character in EVERY movie he has ever been in since.

He fucked up nothing. He finished the character nicely. He did a fine job. And his scene at the end was heart wrenching.

he didn't in Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, The Insider, S1mone - loved all of those
he more or less did in Heat, Devils Advocate, Any Given sunday

Insomnia and The Recruit were grey areas. Not so much shouting but the same 'authority figure' type performance with the same weird semi-southern drawl (to my UK ears)

This scene here is brilliant. Let's not forget Garcia's character is Sonny's child. And Sonny was such a hot head too. You could see sonny right there in the room. I forgot how much i loved this scene as all the actors did good here.

why spite :dunno: i gave each of the first two movies 10/10, so my scoring is objective and rational

it's you guys who have blindly jumped onto the Godfather bandwagon

  28. Anthony

    Anthony Admin Staff Member

Because your arguments are baseless. You claim he screams throughout the whole thing. claim he isnt the same, claim he ruined the character. He maybe be different in some aspects but not on a whole. different because the movie is almost 30 years later. A man can change a lot in that time. People blindly hate Godfather 3 because it's not Godfather 1 or 2. It's easy to hate the movie. Because that is where the bandwagon is.

Ah'd trust a laddie called 'Godfather' fer the Godfather trilogy aboot as much as one named 'Luke Skywalker' fer Star Wars, like.
