No you are grasping. His rookie year which was a whopping what 3-4 years ago is irrelevant now. It's like suggesting Kyrie is more valuable than Paul George because he has superior career averages because George was green.
And stats don't tell the whole story. Kyrie can frequently be detrimental to his teams offense by engaging in and endless string of pick and rolls rather than move the ball. I actually watch these teams play. One particular moment where I nearly had a stroke watching how awful Brown and the team is playing the Kings was watching CJ Miles light it up every time he got an open shot. He had hit about 6 of his last 7 3 pointers. They didn't run a single curl or weak side screen for him the whole game. There offense was a usual assortment if predicable Kyrie, Dion pick and rolls where neither man is really looking to pass it and are really using the screen as a pseudo isolation. Kyrie shot poorly, continued to force shots and they were predictably lamped. Right now I feel DeRozan can fit on most teams in some capacity. Kyrie I see as a very high maintenance player akin to a Marbury or Iverson but not as good as the latter.
Didn't watch the game but I'd wager by the stats a pretty vintage Cav/Brown performance. Kyrie with a typical 24 point, 25 shot 3 assist performance.
For the 2nd Time, UNTIL This Season, DeRozan NEVER Averaged Sooooo Much as 18.5pts per Game, Which is THE LOWEST Irving's EVER Averaged for a Season...Not his Rookie Year, Not LAST Year or Any Year in btwn did DeRozan Average what has Been a Career WORST for Irving...This Year, Considered by Some to Be a "Down" Year for Irving, he's Averaging 22 per Game, just as DeRozan is (In a CAREER YEAR for Him!!!)...There is Simply NO BASIS for Labeling Kyrie Irving "Overrated", when You're Looking to PRAISE DeMar DeRozan, Simultaneously...
Not Only Did Phoenix BLOW OUT Indiana a Couple Weeks Ago, they BEAT Them Again Tonight, In Indiana...
Because DeRozan isn't regarded as a future superstar, wasn't taken 1st overall, doesn't have commercials, etc. Being overrated does not mean he has to be worse than DeRozan. And last year is STILL irrelevant.
Yeah but it's kind of a joke. They should have been expected to be blown out with no CP3 on the road on the end of a back to back and it happens to be nationally televised.
If REED Isn't Mistaken, Paul Missed the LAST Game they Played in Oakland (the Day AFTER Playing in Portland) & it was a GREAT Game:dunno:...
True. They'll be good enough to make the playoffs but not enough to contend. The Atlanta Hawks of the west.
Yeah, Whereas a Julius Randle or Joel Embiid would Look VERY Nice in a Suns Uniform, but they're in the Midst of Fucking That Up...
tanking is for losers. what incentive do the players who are trying to earn a living or hornacek as a coach have to lose on purpose?
just took a peek at Lin's stats. back down to earth for him i guess. he's shot .43% in december and january.
Kyrie isn't playing badly per say, but considering his hype, he's been underwhelming. Maybe it's not his fault though. The media hyped him to be the caliber player who could single handedly turn a franchise like a Lebron, or Wade. He's not gonna be THAT level type of guy. He's a very talented scorer though, and he's only 21, so he still has time to turn into something special.
