It took Hopkins and Martinez to outbox Pavlik. Fat legged little Canelo wouldn't come close. He'd get battered in 1 sided fashion.

Pavlik sucked only compared to some elite fighters, and elite middles of the past. He was still a very good fighter. Just one who had an EXTREMELY short prime due to the bottle. Crapnelo just sucks because he sucks.
Spot on. Prime Pavvles wasn't great, but he was a big, capable middleweight - and that's more than enough to crush Canelo.
I think Canasshole is a good fighter... he can box and he has some pop in his shots.. but Pavlik had some POP in his.. a lot more POP and would POP Canasshole and knock him out I just picture him knocking him out then slamming vodka shots over him and pissing in canasshole's mouth
agreed, Pavlik was a pretty good fighter, his prime was just very short, notably due to his alcoholism. And I don't see how Alvarez wins this. As Reed say, he may make it look like it's competitive for 8 rounds but the real dammage would be done by Pavlik who would ko him late.
