I know that Rocky 1 got critical acclaim and is regarded as a classic, but I feel the rest of the series is somewhat underrated. Rocky IV was incredible and even Rocky Balboa was done very well.

The whole time I watching Sochi Olympics I was thinking they should be playing something from Rocky IV soundtrack

The first one is a great film

The others are ridiculous nonsense... silly, ironically entertaining, but crap nonetheless

I watched 4 and 5 last weekend just cuz they were on...

Really funny in a way, rocky and drago just slug ech other with absolutely no defense at all

REED was 11 when Rocky III Came Out, but Even Then, he Laughed @ the FACT Clubber Lang Never Threw a SINGLE JAB, the Entire Movie:lol:...All MURDEROUS, Winging Hooks...To his Credit, Stallone Made the Boxing Scenes in the Last Rocky Flick ALOT More Believable...

It's pretty simple. In terms of actual MOVIE QUALITY, 1 and 2 are the best.

III and IV were the most entertaining though, and have the highest replay value.

I got to agree with this statement, each successive movie was more outrageous and unbelievable than the previous one. Rocky 5 was an attempt to wrap the whole thing and make it more in tone with the first one. Stallone even let the original film director, John G. Avildsen, to direct it, but the film is the less watchable of them all. I couldn't care less for 'Rocky Balboa', watched it only once and wished I had never watched it. If Stallone does another one, I hope that he sticks with his promise he made after Rocky II that the next one was supposed to be just an old Rocky running for mayor and not returning ever to a boxing ring. That could be more interesting for the character at this point.

REED Thinks "Rocky Balboa" was Sly's TRIBUTE to the Sport of Boxing, in a Way...

The BOXING Choreography was MUCH Truer to the Sport than ANY of the Others, he Borrowed the Ali-Marciano "Computer Fight" as an INTERESTING Plot Twist & he Utilized More AUTHENTIC Boxing Personalities than he Had in Previous "Rocky" Movies...

On it's OWN, No, "Rocky Balboa" ISN'T Anything to Write Home about...But as Part of the "Rocky" STORY, it was Pretty Good & is Worth a 1nce Per Year REwatching...

& this is Coming from a Dude that LOATHES Antonio Tarver, who ONLY Got the Role Because he KO'ed Roy Jones...

The fight sequence was nice, but all that lead to it was crap IMO and, again, the premise was unreal...no 65 year old retired boxer could last 30 seconds in the ring with a current prime champ.

I think whoever plays the announcer should say "I know you can never predict Boxing, but I have a feeling that one of these guys is going to get SODOMIZED and forced to EAT SHIT tonight"

I remember way back reading Jones was supposed to be the Rocky opponent? Obviously Tarver's KO over him made a bigger public name but i don't think that alone took Jones out of the running? Must have been other reasons?

Roy was @ the HEIGHT of his EGOmania & was SLOW to Get Back w/Stallone, when it was Time to SECURE All the Moving Parts for the Flick...Roy was INTERESTED (It's "Rocky", Who WOULDN'T Be Interested???), but he was Cocky Enough to Approach it on HIS OWN Terms...Similar to How CAVALIER he Used to Be w/the HBO Commentating Gig...THEN he Got KO'ed by a Guy w/MORE Personality, who was EASIER to Work w/:lol:...

I always thought it was a good thing Roy messed up on the role or else I would have been cheering for Rocky to get beat up.

Yeah that sounds quite realistic. (and not the slightest surprising)

Did Roy demand to direct the film?

I think they should have another Rocky movie where Sly (Rocky) fights Nasim

you could have Rocky being interviewed on some show like Kelly and Michael.. and have Nasim call in and start talking shit..

    they could have a fight..

the former featherweight champ who is now almost a heavy.. vs a 60 year old former heavyweight champ

I think the announcer could say "If Balboa isn't careful in there, he could wind up MOUNTED in ring center with a Yemenite DILZ inserted DRY into his cornhole"
