Looks OK. I am not very excited though. Let's wait and see. The original is a classic.

I was ready to hate the trailer....but it looks good. Other than the rainmaker(gay) way Murphy dies....it should be brutal like the original...not some gay car bomb....

and I hope Keaton is a bad guy.....he looks like he can play the bad guy very good...

I hope it succeeds. This actor Joel Kinnaman is the goods. A terrific actor with a bright future.

I agree with the car bomb. There is no originality in that one.

I have mixed feelings about this. While it looks okay, it doesn't look like that utopian Detroit OPC controlled society. Looks more like 2013 society. Plus apparently Murphy/Robocop knows that he is human from the get go unlike the first film's main point of losing his humanity and slowly regaining it. Still looks like is the same plot. And yeah, the car bomb explosion doesn't come close to the sadistic execution of the first film where you watched in horror how this likeable character met his apparent demise. What will Robo/Murphy remember in flashbacks? "Oh yeah, this dude was the supposed author of the car bomb explosion that robbed my life. I did not saw him doing it, but I remember the conspiracy behind it!":palm:

Detroit is, oddly enough, in even worse shape now than Robocop once predicted

Trailers look great.....but if that's all that happen to robocop(car bomb) then it sucks and it's gay....and of course Keaton is responsible for the bomb.....

Do you really want another execution scene like the first film? That scene was way over the top and almost ruined the movie for me. It's one of the most difficult scenes for me to sit through right up there with the aluminum baseball bat scene in Casino. Action films are supposed to be fun, there was no need for that level of violence and torture and I certainly don't need any in the remake.

I'm generally opposed to remakes but Hollywood has done decently with a few lately. Dredd was good, Total Recall was decent.

Just watched it. i give it a 6. It could have been really good, but it was too far paced, not enough emotion and the soundtrack was horrible.

The predictions are that it will gross around $18 million this weekend while being crushed by the Lego movie second weekend. Some forecasts predict that the 'Endless Love' remake will beat 'Robocop' by a couple of millions. Its opening this Wednesday in over 3300 screens brought only $2.3 million, a very weak number for a $100 plus budget film.

Robocop (2014) It was a bad idea to remake the original to start with. But studios in the search for the next big cash cow franchise decided to green light this watchable misfire. The film has some good things going for it, but has an equally amount of mistakes that keeps reminding you how the original did it better. The fact that Murphy knows who he is since he is awaken minimizes the emotional impact of his remembering his murder attempt. The action scenes are good within the PG-13 limitations. And the director couldn't resist having Samuel L. Jackson use profanity even if it was bleeped. As Anthony stated, the choice music was horrendous even though they used exactly the same music from the original for the opening title scene which strangely sounded out of place and dated. The villains were one dimensional and lacked motivation. The ending was disappointing IMO. Not a bad movie, but not good enough either. 6.5/10

Yeah it was missing the heart. Nobody gave a fuck about robocop. I only cared about him slightly because of the show "The Killing"
