Khan beat Maidana. Khan is also a much better stylistic matchup with Floyd. I maintain his speed and reach/height would give Mayweather fits (early, at least), and that's probably why he went with Maidana instead.

 

or it could be cuz khan hasnt won a meaningful fight in 2 and a half years. while maidana is coming off his career best victory. a trend among mayweather foes. then there is the fact that maidana is actually respected among mexican fans who will be in the city of las vegas in may. as i stated before, khan presents stylistic difficulties for mayweather jr but he has less of a chance to actually win than maidana who will be dangerous deeper into the fight.

i dont put any stock in khans victory over maidana over 3 years ago, where he barely survived and was stumbling around the last 9 minutes to a razor thin decision. maidana has improved since then, khan hasnt.
