There are a couple of good tunes, or songs with some nice parts in anyway. The instrumentals in the verse for Arabella are pretty nice, shame about the rest though.

First two albums were scorchers though Hut you bam.

Seriously though, their current 'look' is like The Clash circa 1980 if The Clash's mothers had picked out all their outfits.

Or an extra from Happy Days. Still, the new album has a couple of bright spots musically, it isn't awful.

Mainstream music died in April 1994 anyway

I thought you would be right on it with the Arctic Monkeys?
Personally, I never gave them any time at all - heard the first album and it's exactly how you describe above:
"Eeee bah gum....I were dahn t' school disco....dodgy geezer in Vauxhall Nova...pickn' up girls and looking well tasty, 'like..."

Now, it seems any woman I speak to who likes t' Monkeys...is usually because she's soaking wet for the lead singer.

Second album is better, I reckon. Better production. Saying that they only stand out because, as I said, mainstream music has been a veritable wasteland since April 1994.

Actually fuck it, they're a good band. I like a fair few of their B-sides:

Savage opening to that movement... very Russian... classic stuff

Bernstein really "got" that piece... The first time Shostakovich heard Bernstein and the NYP perform that symphony, he was reportedly moved to tears he liked it so much:bears:

The thought of sitting in the house listening to that....:giggle: If I knocked on a door to read a gas meter or something and a dude was playing that I'd excuse myself and flee.
