    I had Khan/Maidana a draw, personally

It was several years ago now

Since then, Khan has been knocked senseless, lost a decision, scraped by an ancient shot hand-picked opponent and generally looked like dogshit while Maidana has secured the best victories of his career... Maidana deserves the shot a hell of a lot more

That Makes Sense, Now that Broner has LOST the Only Dance Partner he's Mentioned, Since the Loss...It's KlitschkoESQUE how Floyd, aka., "Big Brother" to Broner, will AVENGE his Loss...

CASUAL Fans will Conceivably Be ENTICED by Maidana, Fresh Off a CONVINCING Win Over a Floyd CLONE..& By Fightnight, Faaaaaaaaaaaar Toooooooooooooo Many will have PERSUADED Themselves to Plant their Flag on Maidana's Side...

REED Gives Maidana NATHAN MORE than a "Lottery Ticket" Chance of Winning...Weaver-Tate, Roy-Tarver, Tyson-Douglas...Like Those Fights, the DECIDED Underdog, Maidana, Will Have to Improbably KO Floyd, to Win...

    AIN'T Happening...

Like it or Not, Amir Khan @ Least Presents a STYLISTIC Package we HAVEN'T Seen Floyd Faced w/...Conversely, we've ALL Seen Floyd WHITEWASH Guys like Maidana, 11 Times Out of 10...

Maidana will be more competitive than Khan would be... not really competitive, but more

Khan's skilless button-mashing would mildly trouble Floyd for about three minutes before he'd start exploiting the numerous holes... He'd put Khan to sleep within 5... Even after having his numerous, inescapable flaws exposed several times, Khan is still overrated... The "problems" he'd give Floyd are wildly overstated, IMO

Depends on how You DEFINE "Competitive"...

REED Can See Khan Actually WINNING Some Early Rounds vs. Floyd, Before Inevitably Being KO'ed, Whereas Maidana will Likely Hear the Final Bell WITHOUT Pocketing So Much as a Round...

Khan Would Be 1 of the QUICKER Guys Floyd's Fought in Awhile & 1 of the TALLER...@ the VERY Least, Khan Gives Us a UNIQUE Dynamic in a Floyd Fight...

Maidana is Same Ol', Same Ol'...Nary a SECOND of Suspense, Whereas Khan @ Least Presents a BRIEF, STYLISTIC Challenge...

I don't understand how you could reach that conclusion, Maidana will not win a second of his fight against Floyd. Khan would at the least trouble Floyd early, similar to how Judah did. Plus Floyd is getting older, and at this point Khan's speed advantage is more significant than it would have been even a couple of years ago.

Khan's speed is backed by nothing, no skills, no technique... Judah had at least the semblance of technique... Furthermore, Khan is 2 for his last four, one of these a resounding KO loss, one of the wins a scrape job against Julio Diaz, who was a fringe contender 100 years ago... Mayweather knows Khan has no chin, he knows that his defense is absolutely porous... If Julio Diaz can deal with Khan's speed enough to give him a tight argument, a real fighter like Mayweather will absolutely carve him up... I stand by what I said, the best Khan can hope for is to possibly wax on/wax off enough for the first three minutes to convince some people he's earned a "10"... Other than that, Mayweather lands his straight right at will and he knocks him dead... Maidana at the very least could pocket a couple of "Double L" style 10-9s just by hustling and staying busy during moments when Mayweather cruises a little and we know that if he gets knocked down, the fight isn't necessarily over because he recuperates quickly...

Beside all that, Maidana deserves the fight far more than Khan... What have you done for me lately? Khan has lost to the only decent fighters he's faced and he's looked like shit in his two wins... Maidana has notched the best wins of his career and, like I said, I don't think he deserved an "L" against Amir so that fight's a wash, in my eyes

I never bought into the whole "deserves the fight" argument when it results in a horrible matchup.. Maidana is absolutely tailor-made for Floyd, there's a reason he picked him instead of Khan. Garcia would even be better than Maidana (and he's also more deserving - though he'd get worked over just as badly). I'll quote this post back to you when Floyd blanks Maidana 12-0. The version of Floyd that fought Gatti would batter Maidana in 6 like he did Gatti, btw.

i think mayweather jr will stop maidana or at least give him a severe beatdown. this is a guy his size he can and will be able to hurt with flush punches. garcia would command more money and Im sure both mayweather jr and showtime hope that can grow into a bigger money fight down the line. khan should press for a garcia rematch, if he wins he's a prime september foe

maidana was the cheaper choice, and they must have determined the fact that latino fans would MUCH prefer him trumps whatever money khan brings from the brits. if khan was going to get between 10 and 15 million as alleged then i can see why he wasnt the choice at this time

Mayweather would knock Khan out within 4 or 5. Maidana is a much tougher fight.

Maidana's a Loooooooooooooonger Fight for Sure...Don't Know about a TOUGHER Fight Though....

If Khan Wins 2 Rounds En Route to Getting Stopped in the 6th & Maidana Wins ZERO Rounds, yet Lasts the Distance, is Maidana's the "Tougher" Fight???...

    This.

And to make Hut*Hut agree: Khan fight would be tough for Floyd since it would be tough for him to watch such leap amateurism. Happy? :kidcool:

I dont think Floyd stops either khan or maidana. I used to think maidana was Taylor made for Floyd but after watching the baldomir fight, I'm not so sûre anymore. Looping, ankward shot seems to havé some success vs the shoulder roll. I still expectsfloyd to win though, and with a margin

Come on man, Khan is almost as basic as they come. Too much is being made of "his speed troubling Floyd".

Based largely on Judah etc I guess. Floyd does struggle with fast fighters, but Judah at his best has sneaky, unpredictable offense, and power.

Khan has highly predictable button mashing. I guarantee you Floyd would take 1 round max to figure him out, and his silly button mashing.

Maidana is the sort of basic brawler that Floyd traditionally schools with ease, but others have said - he has improved. Definitely sneakier now, less basic in his approach.

Does Maidana have a realistic chance of winning? No. But where as I think Khan would go 0-100 in 100 fights with Floyd, I could see Maidana winning 1 out of 100

I've decided I'm gonna totally overrate Maidana because I like his dangerous, stubby little face. He has the cranial density of a hunter gatherer. He probably grew up in a south American jungle hunting peccaries or something, he'll get his licks in if it kills him.

Based on looking much better and craftier in his fights since the Alexander fight, or rather since teaming up with Garcia.

I think Maidana would thump Khan now.

I've always liked Maidana, I have a soft spot for hard banging brawlers. I'll be rooting for him big time. With that said, I believe he's taylor-made for Mayweather and I don't believe he'll offer a big challenge to Mayweather. Khan wouldn't have either but at least he has a combination of reach and speed that represents something to solve for Mayweather, probably in a few rounds but still a little something to solve.

Khan is too basic to present anything significant to solve. As I said, 1 round max.

That about sums it up. He doesn't lean forward as much, less face first, and his attacks are nowhere near as basic and obvious.
