Django was a great movie. 12 slaves edges it out, but i would watch Django way more than 12 slaves. Django has much better dialogue and is more entertaining. Also has better characters.

Django was a bit of a joke I thought.

It was, it was a campy movie that wasn't meant to be taken too seriously, the soundtrack, the over-violence etc was meant to be a bit over the top.

This is not a criticism but Quentin only cares about making great movies. He'll take his awards and all that stuff but all he really cares about is making the best entertaining movie and he'll sacrifice things (reality, history, facts) to do it.

IMO Django and 12 Years A Slave have no buisness being compared to each other. Sure they both are centered around slavery but that's like comparing Apollo 13 to Star Wars with the basis being they're both films themed in space. Funny I come on here and people are talking about Django because I just got through watching it here at work.

Ya 7/10 at best. I think they overrate it because of the cast (it's trendy to think everything Jennifer Lawrence touches turns to gold) Don't get me wrong acting was good but script was weak long and boring.

After reading so many rave reviews, I was pretty dissapointed. Slow, boring, depressing movie.. NO PLOT, like none whatsoever. Just slaves getting brutally beaten, interspersed with the evil whites doing evil stuff and the blacks being in all types of misery. Then Brad Pitt saves the day... 4/10

Got that part at the very beginning when it says "based on a true story".

And this makes it a good movie how?

this movie is alright, pretty good and worth seeing

wtf is with Brad Pitt casting himself as a legendary nice guy once again :wack: nowadays he always takes roles where he's some historical hero it seems

Forgot I saw this a couple months ago. Thought I actually posted in here already.

Kind of torture porny. Great acting but I can't say it was a very memorable film. As already mentioned the Brad Pitt part was kind of odd and out of nowhere. I have a feeling it was a case of this movie not getting made if he didn't agree to be in it (He's listed as a producer, if I remember correctly). He actually seemed pretty uncomfortable with the part.

    Ending was anti-climactic.

    6.5/10

yeh it's just obvious that Brad Pitt insisted on playing a hero, again

I don't know, I'd wager it was a case of the money guys making the decision for him. I think he wanted to make the film, but didn't necessarily want to be in it.

nah...it's the roles he picks as part of his PR
he kills zombies, kills Nazi's, rescues slaves :wack:

i'd love to see him in a movie where he plays a character everyone hates..a rapist or paedophile something
