May 31st. Huge news that the rematch will take place at the home of English football. Really can't wait for this. Could potentially see 90,000 in attendance. Would be a post-war British attendance record. Probably will be anyway.

ooft. Imagine the view from the top row at Wembley though? I couldn't see shit from half way up the o2 arena

What was the last fight at Wembley Stadium? Bruno-McCall? It's definitely the first at the new Wembley. The views are pretty good wherever you sit.

Were you in attendance for the last England vs Germany match at Wembley?

  5. Jimmy

Jimmy The Greatest of Are Times

No, I wasn't in attendance for that game. I've only been to the new Wembley once and that was for England-Switzerland (2-2 Euros qualifier) back in 2011.

Yeah, this will be the first boxing event to be staged at the new wembley.

Believe it or not, I was never at the old wembley.

What was the last football match played there?

England 0-1 Germany. Then followed the Germany 1-5 England result ;)

Germany were the last team to beat us at the old Wembley and the first side to beat us at the new one

Wembley does seem ambitious. You'd think they might go with Stamford Bridge or something.

I think it'll beat 57,000, which I believe was the attendance when Hatton fought Lazcano in Manchester in 2011. Froch-Groves II is a much bigger fight than that one.

I was thinking the same. It's hardly worthy of Wembley.

When I was a boy, we used to watch the matches at the Polo Grounds and I'd eat a Werther's Original!

i think UK 'trash talking' is generally better than American trash talking. Groves has a high pitched girl's voice but 'Put your hands on me again and this'll end' is pretty good fighting talk in my book. Straight to the point, innit? American talk usually has too much crotch grabbing and adolescent posturing.

How can this fight be bigger than past stuff from even the last 20 years or so like Lewis/Bruno, Eubank/Benn, Hatton/Tszyu, Hamed/anyone..?
