Kirkland is a better fighter than Maidana when he's at his best. That's not saying much, they're both pretty mediocre fighters.

I'd rather see Kirkland fight Floyd than Maidana. Neither one of them has any shot in Hell at actually beating Floyd, but Kirkland would force more out of Floyd.

I agree with you, he's easy to hurt, but solid/tough/gutsy enough to overcome it and recover. There's a reason why he's never been stopped despite facing pretty decent competition.

Plenty of guys are easy to hurt or knockdown, but if they recover it's not that big a deal. Tito for example.

So basically - based on Kirkland getting bounced off the canvas and stopped in a round by a gangly, light punching Japanese fighter, and Maidana not, I conclude that Maidana is more solid and less vulnerable ::

 

If Anything, the Ishida Makes Makes them ANALOGOUS...

maidana is a hungry lion and if he fights Floyd we all have to consider that Floyd is getting old and inactivity HAS to play a part..

basically IF.. and that's a big IF I know.. IF Maidana fights floyd.. you have to admit that Floyd is
A) a natural lightweight.. better suited for lightweight but moved up to get fights
B) Older than the hills and inactivity makes it HIGHLY UNLIKLY that he could perform at a high level
C) too much time off... he has to be rustier than a unfinished metal dildo on a beach in southern cali

IF this fight happens... it would be VERY AMAZING and borderline IMPOSSIBLE if Floyd won
