Who wins? Bear in mind, despite the fact that I'm a big GGG fan, it must be noted than he took a few decent left hooks from Curtis Stevens. And getting hit from Stevens is NOT the same as eating Benn's left hook.
Still need to see more from GGG against someone more dangerous or accomplished than he's faced if you look at it just on a technical level, it looks like GGG has the skill and quickness to take full advantage of Benn's marginal defense, somewhat shaky chin, etc but how often is it just Xs and Os? can GGG handle Benns power? His all out attack? We don't know that about him yet
Benn was a pretty crappy fighter. GGG is still very unproven, and might turn out to be a fraud, but gun to my head, i'd pick him to whoop Benn
Agreed with others (apart from Dog Jones ::) Still too early to predict as we have seen so little of GGG. If I had to guess, I'd probably pick Golovkin because of his technical skill and since I believe he would defend himself more carefully against Benn than against Stevens, but it is practically a coin toss
The Moment this Thread was Posted, REED Figured it'd Be the Usual GGG Circle Jerk...Glad to See Fans WISELY Taking the Wait & See Approach... Dude has Fought No One Even REMOTELY Close to Nigel Benn's Caliber, to Suggest he'd BEAT Benn, Head to Head...Let's Revisit This Thread in the Next Year or 2... REED:shadow:
Better boxer/technique usually wins. When the better boxer also has significant power the odds are even better. Even if GGG turns out to be the goods it's also possible a crude banger can loop a fight winning shot or two like Mayorga-Forrest.
Well, if I absolutely HAD to pick right now, I'd go with GGG via late stoppage. We know for a fact he's technically more skilled than Benn, and it's safe to say his chin is more sturdy. Benn was a more devastating puncher than GGG though, but we know that Gennady is more than powerful enough to stop Benn.
