Since Danny is moving up 147. I'd like to see this fight. I think Thurman would fuck Danny up to be honest. And yes, I would have said that before last night.
I disagree... I don't think much of Thurman... He can punch well but he's technically very poor and makes a lot of mistakes... If nothing else, Garcia has shown a knack for exploiting fundamental flaws
How is Thurman technically poor? He actually has wide arsenal of shots, though his hook is without question his money punch. He sets up the hook very well though, and I think his boxing IQ is above average. Thurman is nothing great, but I look at him as a much better version of what Andre Berto was hyped to be. Only, Berto was more hyped. But I think Thurman has a lot more substance than Berto ever had.
To me the jury is still out on Thurman. I need to see more of him before I say he beats Garcia. Make no mistake, Danny looked average against Herrera but a lot of that had to do with the style. Thurman is a good puncher but es inexperienced against top competition and that proves telling a lot of times.
REED Sorta Gets what McDogg's Saying...There's a SLOPPYness to Thurman that Usually ISN'T there in Technically Proficient Fighters... Thurman is BECOMING More Technical, but he's Not Quite There Yet... Having Said that, Thurman WON'T Be an Easy Win for ANYBODY...Thurman-Garcia Should Be an Eliminator for the Next Crack @ Floyd... REED:mj:
Thurman's defensive technique is utter shit, his footwork is crap... It's all jumpy, wasted energy, movement for movements sake... He's a little better defensively than khan basically
I don't know if I'd call him Khan but he does seem a bit dull with his head movement, hes seems half a second slow most of the time which indicates poor reflexes, combine this with poor defensive technique and he's hittable. But stylistically does Garcia really have the power to exploit it? He could easily win a decision on clean, consistent punching but Thurman is at least live.
