Bullshit! Thanks to Mex, he's actually UNDERRATED on this forum. In fact, the only former fighter who gets more disrespected than Tszyu on here is Tito.

Tszyu would have never lost to Khan, Kotelnik, Alexander, and would have never struggled with a SHOT Morales.

And Broner wouldn't have gone more than 5-6 rounds with a prime Tszyu.

The level of disrespect for Tszyu is sometimes absurd on here.

He would have beaten the fucking shit outta Maidana.

 

That's completely irrevelant to the present discussion. Tszyu didn't even beat the shit out of a decrepit Jesse James Leija, and had far more trouble with him than Gatti. He was not the destroyer you make him out to be. If it's possible that he beats Maidana, but he sure wouldn't beat the shit out of him. I think that Maidanna pressure would break him down, pretty much like Hatton did.

 

Tszyu was already on the downside by that point, not only due to age, but A LOT of it had to do with inactivity. His prime was 99-01.

Maidana would pose a lot of problems for the Tszyu of 05, but he likely wouldn't even beat that version. Maidana NEVER had the type of foot and handspeed that a young Hatton had. Hatton was a lot physically stronger than Chino as well.

 

Bull fucking shit Tszyu was on the downslide. That's just utter fucking shit invented by Tszyu groupies.

People were fawning over him destroying Mitchell, and he was a clear favourite to beat Hatton.

I was half kidding when I said Rios would beat Tszyu. Maidana as it turns out is better than Rios, and is tough, determined, decent pressure fighter. The current version of Marcos would do a Cool Vince on Tszyu, beat the fight out of him and make him quit.

 

LOL @ the "current version" of Maidana. He really isn't leaps and bounds better. More seasoned and experienced, and with a better trainer, but he's shit pathetic defensively with less than great technique. What in the Hell is so impressive about exposing Broner?

Judah at the time Tszyu exposed him was a much better fighter than Broner. In fact, that version of Judah would have thrashed Maidana.

Tszyu would counter Maidana to death, and stop him. Really wouldn't beat that difficult a fight for Tszyu.

Perhaps someone like Provo would provide Tszyu with a tougher fight, but Provo is better than Maidana in every way.

REEDenhausen, the thing is, it's not just about the Broner fight. I think there was a marked improvement since the Alexander fight, where he looked horrible, and it's not just down to the opponents. Teaming up with Garcia was obviously good, he just looks better and more polished now.

For the record I still don't think Marcos is anything special, he'll get whitewashed by Floyd, but he is better than the raw caveman he was. I'd pick him to beat Khan now for sure, put it that way.

I don'T think Tszyu is all that, but he would pretty much dominate Maidana who's nothing more than a ankward puncher.

 

So what I gather from all this is, Mex and Hut seem to believe that prime Tszyu was no better than Broner.

You're underrating my objectivity, or confusing my rating of Tszyu with my dislike for him.

As you may have noticed, I don't have a huge affection for Floyd, but I am still objective enough to consider him amongst the best fighters I've ever seen.

I admit I don't like Tszyu at all, but I genuinely just don't think he's that good either, nowhere near as good as advertised.

To think he'd compete with Duran is mental. Duran is the exact type of fighter that would bully Tszyu around, beat the fight out of him, and make him wilt.

 

you seem to think tszyu is a bum and duran is the Greatest ever. but if they fought it would not be an easy fight for duran at all.
