Kramer vs Kramer

I rewatched this last night and I give it 9 and a three quarters thumbs up. One of the top 5 films of the 70s and thats saying something.

Anybody other fans of this movie here? Or do you think I'm overrating it?

 

Hoffman was unbelievably good in it. In conclusion, Hut liked this film very much.

 

I'm aware of its reputation but I've never seen it.

You are overrating it. Yes, it won Best Picture of the Year just because the Academy wanted to send a message to Coppola that his masterpiece Apocalypse Now was getting no love from Hollywood. Heck, I went to watch Kramer vs Kramer in the big screen and thought that of all the five nominees for Best picture, Kramer & All That Jazz were the weakest films. Breaking Away was way better than the soap opera Kramer vs Kramer. Sure, Hoffman and Streep were good, but the boy wasn't so good and to be honest the film should had had the cojones to reverse the roles (like is more frequent in real life were the mother is the one raising the child when the father leaves). The movie is good, but not great. 7/10

in a decade that produced The French Connection, TWO Godfather films, The Conversation, Dog Day Afternoon, Marathon Man, Network, Three Days Of The Condor, The Sting, Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, a million other movies I can't think of right now because I AM SO PISSED AT YOU, you can't be serious, YA SHITE-TALKING NUTTER!!

Kramer vs Kramer was better than Apocalypse Now???? Are you nuts? The WRONG film took the Oscar that year and everybody knows that. It was as bad as 'Annie Hall' winning over 'Star Wars'. Now tell me how much you love Annie Hall. :FU!:

 

So what? three years earlier Stallone was nominated as Best Actor. The Academy is notorious for its mistakes.

 

I like Apocalypse Now allot but yeah, I thought Kramer vs Kramer was better.
