Love Papillion... it's slightly long, but it is a great film no doubt... it'd be on my 20 best, for sure

I think you were thinking about the re-release, 'The Special Edition' which was released on 1980 with added scenes inside the mothership. But yeah, it was released on 1977, the same year that Star Wars came. Steven Spielberg was nominated as Best Director for the first time for this film, which ironically wasn't nominated as Best Film. But hey, they needed to make room for 'The Goodbye Girl'! ::

Is only ten films. I left out many I love like The Warriors, Alien, Superman: The Movie, The Yakuza, Enter The Dragon, Carrie, McVey & Mrs Miller, Nicholas & Alexandra, Dirty Harry, The Wind & The Lion, The Valachi Papers...way too many, man!

 

this guy's list is solid, but he got it all wrong in ranking the top five which should have been the bottom five.
