Maybe, I guess I'm just saying I don't think Stevenson is QUITE the monster puncher he's being made out to be. To my eyes, Kovalev clearly hits harder.

Stevenson's problem is he has shit accuracy and lands flush much less frequently than kov. He's less skilled generally & doesn't set his shots up or break a defensive guy down as well. I think he hits just as hard though, maybe harder.

You guys are acting like Bellew didn't even get touched before he got KO'd. He's not Pernell Whitaker

He got hit clean a fair few times. He looked tired by the time he got KO'd.

Foreman Never INVESTED as Much Into his Shots as Guys like Frazier or Tyson Did, Because he Didn't Have to...

Does Usain Bolt invest as much into sprinting as Linford Christie did? I know it looks like he isn't trying but I personally doubt he's run much faster in training than he has in the olympics, factoring out wind etc. Power's a weird thing, there's more than one physical way to generate it (thru whatever combo/mix of strength, plyometric ability & rate of force development) and each way visibly looks different. I think Foreman was hitting guys as hard as he could

I think if he really loaded up and torque'd his whole body into shots, he could have hit harder. He just didn't need to do that.

he loaded up fully quite allot. In his younger career anyway.

Apparently, You Must NOT Believe in HEAVY HANDEDNESS Either...

Guys like Tyson & Frazier Invested A LOT More HIP SWIVELING, KNEE DIPPING, SHOULDER ROTATING & ARM Motion in the Delivery of Powerful Shots, than George Foreman...It DOESN'T Take Keen Eye Bullshit to SEE That...Foreman Hit AS Hard or HARDER than them, w/LESS Effort Required, Due to Sheer HEAVY HANDEDNESS...If Foreman Tried to REPLICATE the EFFORT Swings of a Frazier or Tyson, it'd have Compromised his STAMINA...

agreed on this. I always find the mention of Foreman having effortless power weird to say the least. In his younger days, the guy was swinging like a bar room brawler. Ayway, this discussion on effortless power is ridiculous, because theyr's nothing to prove that any of these effortless punchers would have punched harder if they wanted too, only subjective bullshit (maybe Kovalev is not able to wing his punches as much, without actually diminishing his power. Wouldn't surprise me, cause when I was boxing, I found that I was punching harder when I wasnt loading too much). As I said, the only way you can say if a guys punch hard or not, is by looking at the results of theyr punches, not by his motions or the effort in puts on them.

You Don't Think Foreman Could've Hit Michael Moorer Even HARDER than he Did, w/the Kill Shot???...REED Thinks Foreman DEFINITELY Could've Hit Moorer HARDER than he Did...Very Little Wind Up to that Particular Punch...

The Punch was Obviously MORE than Hard Enough, but REED Believes Big George COULD have Hit him Even HARDER...

So Effortless Power is "Ridiculous", but the Notion of Morrade Hakkar Being a WARRIOR Isn't...

effortless power is not ridiculous when you discuss the quality of a fighter, cause by loading less, he has more chances to hit regurlarly. But it's ridiculous to say that a guy hits harder cause he look like he doesnt try to hit hard (since he's, whitout a doubt, trying to hit as hard as he can).

For the DURATION of this Debate, REED has Spoke of the Effortless LOOK of Foreman's Punch Delivery, Dude...Even Prior to YOU Joining the Fray, REED Said it was "DECEIVING"...Point Out ANYWHERE REED Said "Foreman DOESN'T Try to Punch Hard" or Kindly SHUTthefuckUP...

You're CREATED a Disagreement Where there WASN'T 1...Disagreeing Just for the SAKE of It...

I haven't seen much of either guy.....but from what I seen...Kovalev is Julian Jackson, Bob Foster he hits you on point and your brain is going to scramble....Stenvenson is more Felix Trinidad he has to load up(not that way double l) with his punches to really fuck you up....

    so Kovalev hits harder....

well, if you lack the cognitive skills to make the distinction between effective and harder, I can't do nothing for you and understand your confusion.

Agree with all. Maybe Kovalev hits harder, but I'd lean a tick toward Stevenson.

I agree with this, too. Foreman wouldn't have hit harder if he looked like he was trying to hit harder.

Kovalev knocked a guy out with a jab to the body.

I think Kovalev would have knocked out Bellew in less time than it took Stevenson, though, that's mostly because of styles. Kovalev would have come at Bellew from the opening bell.

I would seriously worry for Cloud's health if he fought Kovalev.

Also, Darnell Boone said Kovalev hit harder. Lionell Thompson, who's sparred against Froch and Lemieux, said "Nobody hits like Kovalev".

Foreman definitely had power that, while it may not have been effortless, he didn't put as much effort into it as he could have. He didn't have to put his whole body into punches the way a lot of other big punchers do. An arm punch from Foreman was enough to seriously hurt someone.. he had big, heavy hands and dense bone structure, resulting in what we call being "heavy handed."

Does anyone know when Kovalev started training with JDJ? I want to watch those fights and compare them to his latest fights.
