Nope, he doesn't "ask" for whistles, he does look for contact and gets it. If a defensive player is dumb enough to turn his back him, well...

In other news, I'm REALLY liking these possible playoff matchups if they started today.

Thunder vs Grizzlies- This series is going 7 games

Clips and Dubs- teams hate each other, will be a war!!

Bulls and Nets- both teams playing well lately

w/All DUE Respect, You DIDN"T Post a Video of Westbrook Doing the Exact Play as Beverley Did to Him...REED Already Explained the MAJOR Difference in the 2...

When Did You Show Beverley Showing REMORSE???...

If Beverley WASN'T a Houston Rocket, you'd Be in Agreement w/the 3-4 OTHER Posters in this Thread, that have Labeled him a DIRTY Player, Dog...In 10 YEARS of More of Fightbeat Hoop Discussions, REED Doesn't Recall ANY Injury Getting the Response Beverley's Did, Around Here...

The Report Came Out DAYS Ago, Dude...

Howard Coming Out RECENTLY, Saying it was False DOESN'T Mean the Shit DIDN'T Really Happen...Honestly, You Seem Incapable of Looking @ Things Through Anything BUT Houston Rocket Colored Glasses...

REED Typically DOESN'T Give a Shit Either, but Howard has a KNACK for Trying to Play BOTH Sides of the Coin...

REED was Referring to Last Year w/the Lakers, as Howard's "Down Year"...

Stephon Marbury NEVER Played in the NBA Finals or the Conference Finals or Even the Conference SEMI-Finals, if REED's Not Mistaken...On the Flipside, OKC Hasn't & WON'T Make it to the NBA Finals w/Out Russell Westbrook...

It's FINE to Dislike Westbrook's Attitude, his Shot Selection or Whatever...But You've Gotta RESPECT How HARD he Plays, his REFUSAL to Milk Injuries & the Way he CHALLENGES his Body, when he Returns from Injury....

To Date, THE ONLY Thing your Boy Beverley is Known for is CHEAPSHOTTING Russell Westbrook...That's IT...

did he really? i was joking. cant believe anyone takes him seriously as a source. he might have said hello howard when they played the rockets and howard just told him some nonsense.

OKC shouldve kept harden and dealt westbrook. hardens game is more conducive to longevity. they had westbrook under contract as well so Im sure they wouldve gotten a better package than Lamb and picks and a guy no longer on the team. durant seems to like harden better than westbrook personally and they are a better fit together offensively. westbrook is a better player defensively, though.

It's a basketball play Reed, the same play happens in almost every game! If Westbrook didn't get hurt, NO ONE would have said it was a dirty play.

I don't see how a player can be dirty without ever being called for a flagrant foul in his career. Even in the play in question, wasn't a flagrant, because it happens all the time and it's a direct play for the ball.

The reason why it got such a response was because of WESTBROOKS response. If he didn't throw a childlike tantrum and said "well it was a basketball play, happens all the time and even myself has done the same" I would have had much more respect for WB.

In the video I posted of WB doing the same, regardless IF WB knew the timeout was going to be called, he made the EXACT same action for the ball as Bev.

WB reminds me more of Marbury than anyone else that's ever played.

I respect how hard he plays yes, and also his love for the game. but that's it.

Bev is becoming very well known as a defensive specialist. Did you catch TNT tonight? They were saying he and Avery Bradley are the only players nowadays that play full court D non stop. Never mentioned anything about him being dirty.

I don't like Beverly just because he's a Rocket, I like him because he gives his all, every game, every play. Some players like WB and Lillard may not like it, but that's too bad. Personally, I'd like to see more players like Bradley and Beverly.

Yep, he's the only one that reported it. I didn't even know who the guy was until he had Rockets fans freaking out, then we figured out who he was + Rockets trainer had said he heard no such thing and that to his knowledge, Howard was day to day and could come back at any time.

lawler is a silly old man and Im sure he managed to meet howard a few times and form somewhat of a rapport last year while howard was in LA. still he is not exactly chick hearn so i doubt howard took him seriously enough to give him the type of answer he'd give legitimate reporters. probably was shocked lawler would even tweet it

I agree, and yes Durant and Harden are very good friends. They offered a contract to Harden and gave him a freakin hour to accept.

when bowen was strategically placing his foot underneath guys on jump shots to cause sprained ankles none of those were deemed flagrant fouls either. that aint the standard for dirtiness

I'm not saying it is. But that's not Beverly's MO either. The only play that people try to point at and say he's a dirty player, well that play happens all the time, I even posted a video of Westbrook HIMSELF doing it. Reed says that WB may not have known the timeout was about to be called, but he did the EXACT same motion towards the ball. Only difference is Lin didn't get hurt.

What brought up flagrants was WB flagrant on Lebron. THAT was a dirty play, not even a play on the ball. You can't point the finger at Beverly for being a dirty player for executing a play for the ball that happens in almost every game, then ignore WB flagrant dirty play on Lebron. That's the entire point. When what WB did to Lebron happens to him, he throws a childlike temper tantrum like always. THIS is why I don't like that fucker.

    One more time...

Westbrook doing the exact same motion for the ball

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/wjWrjQpNBsA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Beverly is supposedly a dirty player, but WB is an angel???

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/RBkxTd83RAs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

How WB reacts when it's done to him, difference is, it's NOT a flagrant and it was a play on the ball, he got his shit blocked. He's a bitch.

Seriously who gives a shit about Beverly. The guy is a scrub, who's claim to fame is injuring Westbrook last season.

Westbrook and the Thunder beat the Rockets easily in their last match up.

Let's move on an enjoy Westbrook in the play offs who's one of the best players in the league.

Beverly the scrub, who CWebb just called the best on the ball defender in the NBA, not bad for a scrub :dancingBaby:

Lin is a mental midget, he's too soft. He has the skills to be a very good player, but he gets SCARED.

Dude needs to see a therapist or something. His balls are tiny.

Andrew, since you don't want to talk about Beverly the scrub AKA the best on the ball defender in the NBA, how do you think the Thunder/Grizzlies series would play out if they meet in the playoffs?

i think beverly is good. definitely a guy worth having on any team who would probably be in the rotation on almost every team in the league. lin would only be in the rotation on half the teams Id guess and starting for only a few. whoever gotta play the grizzlies in round 1 will be fucked. popovich would probably tank games to avoid them even if it meant giving up home court down the line

Beverly isn't ever going to make an all star team, that's just not him, he could make a few all defensive teams though. If there's going to be a first round upset this year, the Grizzlies will be involved. You're right about Popovich, and that's a bad matchup for them as well. Things are so tight in the bottom half of the west, no telling who's going to end up where. I want to see Thunder/Grizzlies or Clippers/Grizzlies

I get that you don't like Westbrook and I can see how some people don't. Hell, he used to rankle my feathers all the time and he's on my team. But one thing you got to understand about Westbrook is he's just a really intense guy. That's how he plays so when things go wrong he's going to be hot headed about it, that's just the way he is out on the court. You even saw in that clip you posted he got heated and charged over at Battier, but he stopped himself and didn't do anything. He might explode at first but it's just his initial reaction off of his own intensity. Westbrook kind of reminds me of Wade, how they're both Alpha dogs even though they aren't the best player on their team. That's why you've seen times when Wade has yelled at his coach and Lebron and Westbrook has done the same with his coaches and Durant. So who cares about slapping someone's hand away, when you battling sometimes you don't want to be all friendly, especially in the playoffs.

    REED'll Explain this 1nce More...

The DIFFERENCE in Westbrook's Play on Lin & Beverley's on Westbrook is WHERE they were Dribbling, when they had the Ball in their Hands...

Westbrook was LOOKING Towards the Sideline & DRIBBLING Towards the Sideline, which is STANDARD NBA Procedure when a Player is about to Call an OBVIOUS Timeout...Hell, he was Soooooooooo CLOSE to the Sideline, he was Able to Slap the Scorer's Table Out of Frustration, After Beverley INJURED Him....

On the Lin Play, Lin Dribbles Up the MIDDLE of the Fucking Court...It WASN'T the Least Bit Apparent to the Naked Eye OR Westbrook that Lin was about the Call a Timeout...Had Lin Been LOOKING & DRIBBLING Towards the Sideline, REED Could See your Point...

Those "Remorse" Videos are Laughable...Beverley Says he "Doesn't Remember" the Play & it's NOT Until Some OBVIOUSLY Pro-Houston Rockets Reporter (Maybe it was YOU???) Says, "You were just Making a Good, Hard Basketball Play, Right Patrick?", that he Perks Up & LATCHES Onto It...

As for Westbrook Slapping his Hand, That WASN'T the Infamous Play...

BEYOND All That, Beverley Went @ Westbrook THE SAME FUCKING WAY, Earlier this Season, Dude...There's NOfuckingJUSTIFICATION for that...

Again, Westbrook Tried to GRAB LeBron Out of MID AIR, from BEHIND...A "Dirty" Play Would Be Westbroo PUSHING Bron from Behind...In this Instance, Bron had a Breakaway Dunk in his Sights, EVERYBODY KNOWS You can't Merely TOUCH Foul Bron, so Westbrook GRABBED him...

Problem Is, Bron is 50+ Pounds HEAVIER than Westbrook, so when Russell TRIED to Grab him, Bron Slipped THROUGH the Attempt...

Westbrook DIDN'T Swipe @ Bron, Didn't HIT Bron, Didn't PUSH Bron, he Tried to GRAB Him Out of Mid-Air...No MORE, No LESS...

REED Said as Much when TexMex 1st Posted that Video...Westbrook was EMBARRASSED his Shot Got Blocked from Behind, his INITIAL Reaction was Aggressive, but @ NO Point Did it Appear he was REALLY Going to Fight Anybody...His PRIDE was Briefly STUNG....

The best on ball defender is not nor will ever be a point guard.

Giving a former pro a mic seems to be the key to glorifying stupidity.

Does this look like 1996 to you?

Direct posts towards me when you come back to reality.

Beverly isn't Payton and Pippen existed.

Even if Beverly was Payton reincarnated he still couldn't guard Durant or LeBron in 2014
