I've just always, always had a thing for her. Even when I was 10 or 12, & she would've ben probably in her mid-to-late 30's.

saw king's speech. it's passable, interesting direction/production etc., nice acting from firth, but it's the worst best picture since million dollar baby (which was really poor i thought). it's in the mold of beautiful mind, shakespeare in love, i guess - a polished commercial product, awarded the statuette for its business acumen. fine, but it's always better to see best picture go to the likes of no country, annie hall, deer hunter, godfather, even a mature genre movie like silence of the lambs. well, actually, guess they don't really do that much any more; no country was a bit of an anomaly.

and what is it with you americans and your anglo-fetish? 'the queen', now 'the king's speech' - you seem to like viewing us as a retarded, antequated version of yourself. as if we basically could be quite normal if only we just learned to loosen up a bit, let go of the etiquette and bizarre rituals.

First of all we the people didn't make that movie, Hollywood did so don't go thinking that's the way we view you people. All it is is Hollywood following one of their simple formulas for how to make a movie. They'd do the same thing if it was some rich jerk who lived in...Hollywood, of all places.

hadn't watched in about ten years... Great dialogue and as good a cast as you can get

It didn't have a cast of actors, but you know what else was good?

    The King Of Kong 7.5/10

An entertaining docu-drama about various nerdy dudes competing earnestly for the highest score ever on a Donkey Kong game (the actual arcade version from the early 80s) ... Definite good guy/bad guy dynamic. Includes a memorable scene featuring one of the bad guy's most pathetic, dorky sycophants doing all he can to sabotage the good guy upstart, essentially pwning himself for all time as one of the most transparent, passively churlish, uber-nerds ever recorded on film... Truly odd, awkward, dorky people who take this shit as serious as cancer... I've heard that there are some inaccuracies on this, but I don't care enough about the subject to be concerned... Definitely enjoyable for a casual viewer with no attachment to arcades.

"Superman" Zack Snyder version earlier tonight. 6.5/10

High praise from me as I'm not a big fan of the "Superman" concept to begin with. Had the potential to be better, but the last 1/2 hour or so kind of ruined it.

I thought it was overdone, and they reverted back to the mawkishness of the Reeves films and the comic books they they seemed to successfully avoid for the better part of the movie. I liked the first 90 minutes or so before it got out of hand.

But that is what everyone was waiting for. Don't get me wrong. I loved the first part too. But everyone has been waiting for a superman brawl that would fuck shit up and this one delivered. Overdone, maybe. But again you have two heavyweights going at it. Both of whom don't really know the full potential of their powers in this world. As far as any mawkishness, isn't that was superman is all about when it comes to earth and humans?

Been finding it hard to watch movies lately. Started the Hunger Games 2 but it was going to slow so I turned it off. I've watched a shit load of tv shows lately though, including a couple episodes of Good Times lol.
