REED's Hearing on Sports Radio Durant WANTED to Sit Out Because he's TIRED of Hearing about the Streak...

As Unselfish as this Act may Seem, it's Actually SELFISH of Durant, if the Reasoning is Correct...

Because he was PERSONALLY Tired of the Streak, the Hype Surrounding it, the Inevitable Comparisons to Jordan & He WILLFULLY Sat Out of an Otherwise WINNABLE Game, for his Own PERSONAL Reasons...

    How is it NOT Selfish???...

Durant is a SCORER 1st & Foremost...That's his Greatest GIFT to Basketball...To Repeatedly Echo "I Don't Care", Whenever Asked about the Streak was DISINGENUOUS...WHOthefuck WOULDN'T Care about Surpassing Michael Jordan in Something???...When Durant's Career is OVER, he'll REGRET Tonight...

Dude is in SUCH a Groove, REED Thinks 80 Straight, Or Whatever Wilt's Record is, was ATTAINABLE...Kevin Durant Can Score 25 Points in his SLEEP...Rocking a Suit, Dress Shoes & an Eye Patch Over 1 Eye, Durant Could STILL Drop 25...He Could Wear 5 lb Ankle Weights on Each Leg, Dribble to his Left No More than 10 Times & STILL Finish that Game w/25...

Again, How is it NOT Selfish of Him???...

Look @ Me, I'm Soooooooooooo COOL, I'll "Only" Score 23 & Sit Out the ENTIRE 4th Quarter, to Show How Much I DON'T Care about my Streak...

    How is that NOT Selfish???...

REED, they won by 15. What difference does it make? He may have done it so his team-mates don't have to hear about it, or feel pressure to make sure HE continues to score 25, regardless of the circumstances.

durants goal is to win basketball games and ultimately a championship. you also seem to think these athletes owe you something as far as individual goals, playing through injuries, etc.

so basically it would not have been selfish of him if he had scored another bucket at the end of the third quarter? it is best for his team and their success if he gets all the rest possible. i kinda felt like they kept him in longer than he wanted in an earlier game when he needed a few buckets to hit 25

would it have been selfish of durant if he had 24 points with 3 seconds left in a game the thunder were down a point and he passed up shooting a contested jumpshot to hit ibaka for a dunk?

What's the record for scoring 23 or more points in a game? Durant may still be beholden to REED's whimsies, but just not know it yet. :nana:

You realize ball-handling was completely different back then because players COULD NOT TOUCH THE SIDE OF THE BALL, right?

which hand is he using there? does that pic look familiar to you?

once again, you could not touch the side of the ball in the NBA back then, which COMPLETELY changes dribbling & ball-handling dynamics

I see you are one of those children who thinks the NBA started in 1980

500 lb isn't going to set any records in an open division for PLing, it's completely believable for a 300lb+ former shotputter who is a genetic freak to begin with. Chris Donahue on MSNBC watched him bench 465 lb "like it was a matchstick" AT THE AGE OF 59 IN THE 1990s.

 so despite the fact that it turned out he wasnt needed in the 4th quarter, as evidenced by the fact he didnt play and they still won, they shouldve left him in??

I just saw an*shit just got real.

    1. Dream had 3 long runs. In 86, he just so happened to lose in the Finals against one of the best teams in history. He beat one of the best teams in history, the Showtime Lakers along the way, a team better than Shaq has ever faced.

    2. Shaq, and Horry, (who played with both) said Dream was better. Whom did Jordan pick on his all time team at Center? DREAM.

    3. Speaking of Jordan, umm, he was playing basketball in 95, dropping 55 on the Knicks during the regular season. Yeah I'm sure he was real "rusty" come playoff time. Don't spout that non sense again or I'll make you look more foolish than you will aready be after this post.

    4. Since you want to talk efficiency and shooting %, well for one, Dwight shot 60% on his way to the Finals, is he Shaq's equal? If you watch basketball and not a stat sheet, you will see that when you're on a shitty team, it's pretty easy to TRIPLE team a certain player. Yes, Dream was triple teamed all the time. Why? His teammates were scrubs. What will that do to your shooting %?

    5. Another factor for your shooting %. Dream had a 15 foot jumper, could cross over fools and shoot the J, or drive it in, you know like a GUARD. Oh and he also had this thing called a dream shake. That was his OUTSIDE game. Having one, you know, and outside game, lowers your FG%, but makes you much harder to guard and frees up your teammates. As far as his inside game, for every move Dream had, he had four counters for it, and 4 for each counter.

    6. Lets put Shaq in a time machine, and poop him out in say- 1985. When Dream, Ewing, Robinson were all getting started and while Moses, Kareem, Parish, Walton, Sikma were still hanging around, oh and on Shaq's easy nights, he'd face Smits, Daughtery, Duckworth, Oliver Miller, Tarpley, Eaton, and Siekaly and at the same time give him a team with Sleepy Floyd, Rodney McCray, Jim Petersen and Allen Leavell. His FG% would plummet and he wouldn't be making any "long playoff runs" at all.

Oh and one more thing, Hakeem had the ability to be clutch, because he had the ability to actually be in the damn game down the stretch, because he could hit his fucking free throws.

*Shaq is a better offensive player.

*Denotes if Hakeem had Greg Oden's knees and Jason Collin's sexuality throughout his entire career.

I've always thought that this generation of players is a bit weird in that regard. How dare you compare me to Michael Jordan!!! I'm Lebron James or Kevin Durant... like it's talking them down or something.

In other news - Nowitzki enters the top 10 best scorers of all time and thinks it's a big deal.

without the ball he was faster. With the ball running up court he looked awkward and slow compared to shaq.

So the guy who was called the world's strongest man for close to a decade can lift 25 pounds more than Wilt Chamberlain?

Now it's not that Henry had a strong bench...his bench is actually weak compared to the World records....but this guy did this stuff for a living. He's far stronger than a freaking basketball player.

Why are we even talking about Wilt Chamberlain anyway?

You ever hear of a guy named Earl Manigault? He once did a dunk and noticed a coin on top of the backboard so he took the coin and put it in his pocket before coming down for the slam.

    True story.

If he played in today's NBA he'd average 75 a game.

    http://muscleandbrawn.com/strong-strength-standards-raw-natural-lifters/

    Now as you can see.

A 500 pound bench is considered "Pro" strength.

Not elite which is already a top 1 percent.

A 500 pound bench is literally top 50 in the world material.

But old man Wilt Chamberlain lifted 475 like it was a walk in the park huh and maxed at 500 huh....back in 1960 at that where not a single strength record has stood in any single category due to the huge advances in nutrition and training practices.

    Uh. No. Thanks for playing.

So much athleticism. So much skill. Wow.

Also the people who excuse West's poor ballhandling skill are beyond tools when you consider Bob Cousy predated him and was doing behind the back dribbles like nothing. They actually scorned Cousy's style of play for being too "flashy". Ridiculous.
