Is Canelo-Lara upon us?

Rumors keep swirling around that it's in the making.

I'd like to be the first to say that the Cubano will give the Ginger a schooling.

I think the Ginger hurts him often enough to win rounds and the decision with it, looking silly at times in the process

 

Canelo struggled greatly with Trout and Lara is a level above Trout, imo.

 

Lara struggled with Angulo.

Good match up, I hope it happens.

 

There's no monetary sense in making that fight. It's a lose-lose for Canelo.

Credit to Angulo, it seems he's willing to prove he,s a great fighter instead of a popular one.

 

He'll have pitch a virtual shut out, as Rigo did to Donaire.

Lara has mental lapses, which is what can possibly blow this fight for him.

He has to be "on" and motivated every round.

Trout has a solid defense, and legit power in his left hand. Wouldn't be surprised if he's able to hurt Canelo.

scheduling snafu. apparently golden boy promotions was unaware of chavez jr's funeral service taking place that same evening.

 

Styles wise, I could see this being a nightmare for Canelo. He might be a little too methodical to win this fight. I think his lack of work rate and pressure could give Lara all the space and time he wants to sit on the back foot and sharp shoot some counter lefts. Could be wrong but based on how Canelo struggled with Trout, I don't see him looking great here against a guy who is a better fighter than Trout.

 

Yes Lara struggled with Angulo and yes Canelo battered Angulo, but that has no bearing on a Canelo-Lara matchup. Canelo and Angulo are very different fighters. I favour Lara over Canelo due to styles.

 

^^ not to mention lara beat the fuck out of angulo and broke his face to pieces prior to angulo facing alvarez. the guy clearly had a bad eye going into the fight
