Anyone watching this? Two great knockouts coming from Jimmo and Noons. Was hoping for more of an action fight from Stout and Noons but wow KJ floored him with a huge right hand.
Loved the Noons KO. Stout had a durable chin. I don't think he'd ever been KO'd before in 30 pro fights. By the way, John Anik just described the Penn-Edgar rivalry as "bitter" LOL
Kennedy looked spent from round 2, but still hit Bisping with awfully wild punches. they both looked like shit
kennedy fights like chael sonnen but w/ better jiujitsu. pretty damn boring to watch. kennedy won, but i thought it was a close fight. surprised that one judge had it a complete shutout.
I think the poll on who would have the best chance to be a UFC champion was something like: Aubin-Mercier 55% Westcott 16% Theodorou 14% Laprise 14% I would have flipped Westcott and Aubin-Mercier. Theodorou was the betting favorite, but I really though Westcott was going to whip him. Not quite.
Is he the dorky middle weight? He was entertaining in there. Tim Kennedy, urgh boring performance. I think a sharp Bisping would have beat him up in the later rounds.
I know it will be an unpopular opinion, but I was relatively impressed with Kennedy's performance. Chael Sonnen is one of the best wrestlers at 185, and he couldn't take Bisping down consistently and hold him there. Kennedy did. On top of that, Kennedy's combination of takedown attempts and hard counter punching completely negated Bisping's normally sharp boxing especially his jab. Additionally, fighting that kind of clingy, grappling fight is a cardio tester and Kennedy maintained his strategy and pacefor the full 5 rounds. it wasn't an exciting fight to watch, but it was a meaningful win for Kennedy.
