Taking a look at the fight analytically for a minute, it seems Shumenov literally has ZERO variation in his rhythm...he simply walks forward and throws a grunting punch.

Every time. He has nothing resembling footwork, he doesn't step to the side..he does the same thing every time thus Hopkins as the fight goes on continues to pot shot with the right hand and the occasional jab. Hopkins has thrown two punches the entire fight.

How the hell did Shumenov think he could take this fight with no trainer?

Shumenov should retire from boxing because he isn't a boxer. Dude is some sort of karate stylist, should go fight in a cage.

I have the round 8 even since Shumenov did better than previous rounds, but Hopkins landed the hardest punches.

Both of these guys would get lit by either Kovalev or Stevenson.

Tactical brilliance by Shumenov. You can tell when he retires he'll be the next Eddie Futch.

I know Hopkins is a far superior fighter to Shumenov, but Shumenov really is not that good.

Hopkins is 100 years old. This is an unnecessary footnote.

Wow, how did Shumenov is a champion? He launched an avalanche of punches against a visibly tired Hopkins against the ropes and missed most of them.

Shumenov often throws punches in Bernard's general direction. That's a good way to start.

Smart move by Shumenov getting up after that knockdown. A lot of boxers make the mistake of not doing that.

If Shumenov won two rounds that will be generous.

Only one of the judges was able to understand Shumenov's very very subtle brilliance.

And the Magoo award goes to the judge who scored the fight for Shumenov.

wow, split decision, are you kidding me. The fight was a bit closer tha some say it was, and Shumenov might have won 3 rounds, but no way he won more than that.

I think Porter would kick Bradley's ass badly.

shumenov improved according to some prior to this bout. he still sucks. but his clout was impressive in that one myopic mouse gave him the fight. kudos to his mafia connections.

i would not be shocked if hopkins beat stevenson. though the haitian canucks athleticism should make him a stern favorite. thats a 50/050 fight to me

Id take bradley over porter all day. porter has good speed but bradley is more skiilled/versatile. not that it would ever happen anytime soon

I wonder what Broner was thinking watching Porter dismantle Paulie with relative ease.

Neil, I don't see what Bradley has for Porter. Bradley was able to outbox a 100 year old JMM who has lead feet at this point, but Porter is in his mid 20s and has the foot speed to close the distance on Timmy and force him into a brawl. In which case Porter wins on being more powerful and physically stronger.

He's so fuckin delusional that I'm sure he'll tell the media that he softened Paulie up. Broner simply has no business at 147. He belongs at 140. Porter is waaayyyyy too strong for AB.

I am beginning to think that Broner could be finished within two years if he keeps going this way. He doesn't train like he should, he sees shortcomings only in other fighters, he is delusional and likes to explain away his own problems and issues. Maidana, never an efficient or surgical fighter in any sense of the word, dealt with him. Eventually, AB is going to get Provodnikoved, get into a fight that takes years off him. Before too long he is going to be Dialling Don King Demanding Dime Deals Against Deadbeats in Detroit.
