Main difference between 1st half of fight and second was Weeks broke them up immediately in the second half. Madaina won 1st three rounds in such dominant fashion, nobody wanted to give him middle rounds because they were comparatively closer. Some rounds just could not give to pbf because he held so much and used his fore arm. Plus, Vegas refs are obviously paid off by pbf.
Madaina lost he was very dirty and just the fact that Garcia told him to keep fighting dirty makes me not want to see MM again. Same way I felt about casamayor, I can't stand how dirty he is. Floyd also looked bored in there to me. And not to mention Floyd beat him with a 20 pound weight disadvantage.
Floyd was dirty too. Forearms. Winks to the ref. Holding. Don't kid yourself. PBF is one of the most ruthless guys out there, whether it's in the ring action, or using his influence to politic for advantages in matters like glove choice and refereeing.
Double big difference between creating some space with and elbow and headbutting or tackling someone. Plus watching the post fight show where Garcia is saying this is a streetfight a dirty fight. Fuck that.
True, but once again he handpicked the safe opponent (Baldomir) instead of the guy the general consensus considered as the true champ of the division.
Margarito would have caused huge problem for pbf, at this time of theyr career. In fact, he probably would have won
agREED... Prime Margarita Would've Given TODAY's Version of Floyd an Interesting Bout, but @ the Time it was Being Discussed, Floyd Would've SCHOOLED him...It'd have Been Floyd-Baldomir All Over Again... REED:mj:
naw dont see it at all. margarito wouldve beat the fuck out of baldomir and fought nothing like the guy. mayweather jr would have had to stink it out a whole lot worse, from round 1 instead of midway point like vs baldomir
Agreed. I don't think Margarito would have beat Floyd, but it would have been more comparable to the Maidana fight than the Baldomir one. Mayweather at 50 years old would still beat Baldomir.
Margarita Beats Baldomir for Sure, but THE WAY Floyd Fought & Beat Baldomir is THE WAY he'd Have Fought & Beat Margarita... Jab, Move, Jab, Move, Pull Counter, Move, Jab to the Body, Move, Lead Left Hook, Move...All The While, Floyd Would FORCE Margarita to Re-Set...Margarita was VERY Slow...Prime Floyd was VERY Fast...And ACCURATE...And Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to Pin Down or Corner, @ his Best... REED:mj:
Floyd WOULDN'T Have Stood Still Loooooooooooong Enough for Margarita to have Done That...It'd B a "Bicycle", "Track Shoes" Type of Fight... REED:mj:
Please Re-Watch the 1st 6 Rounds of Cotto-Margarito I...That Fight Alone FULLY Illustrates why Margarita Has NOfuckingCHANCE of Beating a PRIME Floyd Mayweather... REED:mj:
Agree...I don't see the Baldomir angle....Bumdomir was is and will always be garbage....while Margarito was limited as hell...he would keep on coming for 12 rounds...Floyd would have to be turning and that shoulder roll defense wouldn't be prefer with someone as "heavy*" handed as Margarito..so Floyd would have to use his legs A LOT....
I don't see anybody claiming Margarito would have beat Mayweather. He simply would have been a better opponent than Bumdomir was.
I was answering the thread title. I was not going to read through 12 pages of the obvious, Floyd is on the decline. If he don't retire soon he will lose.
