Every new movie scores ridiculously high on imdb these days, i'm pretty certain they're rigged - the more moneys involved the more rigged the scores will probably be
Dark Knight was awesome solely because of Heath Ledger's remarkable portrayal of The Joker Without it, it's the same as the rest of these stupid nerd films Also IMDB is the worst place on Earth for ratings/reviews... It should be avoided at all costs when it comes to that stuff... For technical info/cast/location etc., it's great
It is possible that many of the user's that vote are somehow involved with the movies. Perhaps some of the users get paid to give high ratings. There is a lot of money involved.
Variety and Empire gave xmen 8/10 and the telegraph 4/10. Godzilla has a 60 score over 14 reviews on metacritic.
metacritic and rotten tomatoes are going to likely give a much more realistic impression of critical consensus when it comes to the movies
Based on 41 critics reviews with 36 fresh and 5 rotten, Godzilla is getting a strong 88% certified fresh score. I'll have to watch this movie on Saturday.
That is based on only seven (7) reviews. Now 'Godzilla' has a 74% fresh after all reviews were tallied. That is a huge drop from 88%. Expect a similar drop for 'X-Men' after more reviews are counted.
Saw Godzilla......very disappointing...first 40 minutes intriguing stuff......Breaking bad dude made it WORK....
What made it disappointing? The monster mash battle or just the fact that the title character is barely seen in its own movie?
Monster Mash was not bad I like how he flames into that monster.....by the time that came around I just wanted the movie to end.... -Wasn't impress with Godzilla...he look like he was made of rubber like the old movies... -His opponents look like the creatures from Cloverfield.. -The early exit of Breaking Bad guy... -What were the creatures made of? In the Buller version of Godzilla those missiles were getting thru....in this one tank shells were bouncing off them... -All the bouncing around from Tokio...to Honolulu...to Nevada...to San Francisco... -The way GODZILLA plays nice with the MILITARY....he swims above the water so the ships can track him better...Godzilla actually swims from Honolulu to San Francisco...and half the time he is butterfly stroking across the Pacific with the army following him...and he only sinks to AVOID hitting the ships....FUCK OUT OF HERE.......
I thought this was a pretty solid movie. Nothing stood out negatively about it. Pacing, dialouge, directing were all solid. They didn't show the monsters a lot but following the central (nonmonster) characters stories were fairly interesting in their own right. Other than the monster fights I think the replay value on this would be just middling, but these days I was just happy to watch a solid movie where I didn't come away feeling disappointed about anything. 7/10.
Dark Knight sucked. Unless you're 10 years old, all these superhero-remake-blockbuster movies are shit.
