Who wins? Bear in mind, Marciano wasn't a 220 pound, wickedly fast powerhouse like Tyson, so this would be no blow out. Still, I think the most likely outcome is Rocky by late KO, whilst clearly behind on the cards.
X, I figure we're talking 190 pounds or so? Yeah, I'm inclined to agree... especially over 15 rounds... I think Rocky can get Mike out of there eventually, but it'd be a great fight... Over 12 rounds, Spinks might have enough in the bank to win it
Wouldn't Spinks have a pretty substantial height advantage? And Spinks at 185 is a top of the line Spinks ... not so much the stinker/spoiler he was against Holmes. Tough fight for both guys.
REED Likes Spinks by Decision... When Spinks Moved Up to Heavyweight, he was OVER 200lbs, if REED's Not Mistaken...This HAMPERED Spinks' Mobility, which is a Prerequisite for an UNDERSIZED Heavy...It's a Wonder Spinks was as Successful as he Was, @ Heavy... @ 185-190, Spinks is More Like his Lightheavy Self...He Wouldn't Beat Marciano Spectacularly, but he WOULD Beat Him...Height, Reach, Length, Good Jab, Respectable Pop, Reliable Chin & Enough MOBILITY to Outpoint Marciano, Close but Clear... REED:hammert:
I'd prolly have to go with spinks It's fun to think rocky was this destroyer and all but spinks was one of the best ever at that weight and would prolly school him
I know I'll probably offend some guido, but marciano was pretty much garbage as far as all time greats go. I think spinks outbox him easily.
Rocky was the real deal, and he was a great fighter. When he gets overrated is when people give him a chance to beat Ali, Tyson, Foreman, Lewis, Holmes, ect. Those guys were simply too big for him, with too many tools. He'd especially get butchered by a guy like young Foreman, Lummox, and young Tyson. Simply too small for them. He wouldn't have beaten Louis either, if Joe was in his prime. Still, he was a great fighter for HIS weight, and not too many guys between 185-200 pounds in history could have beaten him.
if by this you're implying that I'm biased toward modern fighter, once again you're talking out of your ass, since I always said that the current crop of fighter is rather weak (not as bas as some bert sugar wannabe claim it is, but bad nontheless).

I think Rocky in his prime, WITH chest acne..is a MUCH better fighter than some give credit. It's not like he is just some bar room brawler..he had some skills and was a wrecking ball I'm just saying..IF you could take rocky on his best night then add the chest acne...? I think you night have something there
JOM thinks he sucked because he's white and American and they hadn't come out with Color TV yet And if you acknowledge the obvious, objective fact that the guy was a very formidable 190 pound fighter it is "becuase you are jingoism american biased bert sugar who think old day better than nows"
Anybody that considers Marciano garbage is simply a tard that hasn't watched many of his fights. He had wrecking ball power in either hand, a great chin, physically strong as an ox, and all time great stamina. His defense wasn't bad either. Not saying he was as slick as Duran, but the guy wasn't a Brandon Rios-like punching bag either.
Well, you seem to have reading comprehension problems, since I've said that he's garbage at the ATG level, not that he's garbage. He was a good decent little fighter, who was very protected so he's overated because of that. I don't think he has much of a chance against Spinks, who took the power of much bigger man and outboxed more skilled guys, unless spinks fades badly down the stretch, which he has no history of doing.
