This is such revisionist bullshit Nino Valdes? He lost to Archie Moore, Harold Johnson and Bob Baker... That's what cost him his shot at Marciano... You ever even seen him fight? What about him makes you think he could have possibly "blasted" Marciano? He couldn't blast Johnson, a Light Heavyweight, He couldn't blast Baker (same Baker that couldn't get past Moore, and couldn't get past Satterfield) he couldn't blast Archie Moore in two tries, the same Archie Moore that got pounded by Marciano. Where did you get your info, Nick Tosches? Nothing about Valdes suggests that he "blasts" anybody good from that era... He never did blast anybody good from that era... Valdes was a good contender, but nothing distances him from the other solid guys Marciano defended against... Styles I dont think that Marciano aggressive style would have worked against a bigger, more powerfull guy like Valdes.
