Question about greg Pop. If the Spurs dont win a ring this year, should pop be replaced as a coach? I realize the guy is amazing in the playoffs, but if he cant win the big one anymore, what does that say? Or do we just blame the spurs players?
Nah Pop will leave when he wants to. He's done so much for them that they won't force him to step down. Spurs raping OKC now. Durant and Westbrook are amazing players at their best, but San Antonio is a better TEAM. And its just that simple. All OKC does is play iso ball with Durant or Westbrook. None of those other players have a defined role within that system. The perimeter defense is non existent, not having Ibaka = having no paint defense. Spurs living in the paint once again and now they're getting hot from the outside. Big problems for OKC.
Westbrook yelling at Durant to use his head and Durant not saying anything speaks volumes of who is the alpha wolf is on that team.
BTW, this game is turning into game 1. Its sad to see such a great post season turn into a complete domination by one team against another.
I honestly feel a bit bad for Westbrook. He's the only one putting in effort for his team. KD has packed it in.
This is what happens when a team gets out of round 1 due to sheer luck then runs into a championship caliber team
And unlike 2012, I don't get the feeling OKC have the weapons to come back. No Harden, no Ibaka, and Sefolosha was decent during that time. And the Spurs are better now than then.
REED cant have any qualms about Green lighting it up this year. Shooting 50%+ from 3 in the post season, and in game 1 when he was guarding either Westbrook or Durant they shot 2/14. Underrated defender.
Having Ibaka would make this series a lot closer, but I still think the Spurs would win in 6. If the Spurs stay healthy they should crush whoever comes out of the East.
