Hopkins by UD... Mosley doesn't get stopped because Mosley doesn't engage once he's been made to respect his opponent's power... He'd do his usual grinning bullshit and happily go the distance via shutout
I don't think he would've won, but I think Mosley would've had a surprising amount of success. Hopkins whole game is interrupted when his opponent has fast hands. We saw it with Taylor, Roy and even Dawson. Hopkins just isn't able to thrive in there as usual when his opponent's hands are fast. You could say who isn't hamstrung by an opponent with quick hands? Nobody. Agreed. But I contend that Hopkins has particular problems having success...adjusting his approach when his opponent's hands are fast. ODH had to work harder in there than he was willing to but while he was there he was winning rounds, landing his jab, and causing trouble for Hopkins.
Firstly, Mosley isn't Roy. Secondly, Taylor and Dawson had success with Hopkins in large part due to their size. Lastly, neither one of those guys faced a prime version of Hopkins. Circa 01 Hopkins would beat the Hell outta Mosley, and PROBABLY stop him late.
If we're talking about the other two Sugar's, it'd be a different story. I could see Robinson, and Leonard giving Hopkins tremendous problems. Not Shane though.
Also, none of those three had to go forward to win like Mosley. Shane was at his best when he could get close and mix it up. Just not going to work against Bernard.
To clarify for those looking for a debate where there isn't one, I pick Hopkins to win. Where we might have something to disagree about is how one-sided the fight would've been. I contend Mosley would've had more success (in losing) than most here seem to.
